Guesthouse in West Hollywood
Private, Designer Guesthouse with Rose Garden
Discover a serene, private corner of Los Angeles in this boutique, designer cottage with a secluded patio and European-style kitchen. Dine al fresco on the wooden patio under cover of the night sky and surrounded by the lights of the city. This fully detached 1 bedroom-1 bathroom Craftsman guesthouse is the perfect place to stay while in Los Angeles. Centrally located in West Hollywood, one of the safest and most pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods in the city, you're only minutes away from the best of what LA has to offer. Some of the hottest restaurants, bars and clubs are within walking distance. First class amenities in this professionally decorated unit include granite counters, hardwood floors, crown molding, recessed lighting and brand new stainless steel appliances. Relax on your own private deck or hit the street for a night on the town. It's the best of both worlds. ABOUT THE GUESTHOUSE: This stylish house is quietly nestled off the street by a rose garden. It is fully detached --no neighbors or shared walls--and gets great natural light. It is one of two guesthouses behind the main house on the property, in which I live. I always respect everyone's privacy, though should you need something or have a question, I'm not far away. The bedroom has a brand new, comfortable queen bed with high quality linens. The large closet has built-in drawers, wooden hangers, a rack for your suitcase and a hamper to make laundry day easy. There's an iron and ironing board in there for your convenience, as well. The French doors open up onto the deck, perfect for dining alfresco. Save some money by cooking at home in the fully appointed kitchen, which includes a dishwasher, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, toaster, blender, mixer and chef's knifes. The black and white "Old Hollywood" style bathroom is tiled floor to ceiling and has a beautiful shower/tub with satin nickel fixtures, plenty of hot water and great water pressure. Yes, there's a hair-dryer in there for you, too. No need for trips to the laundromat, there’s a washer and dryer right in the unit. Other features include recessed lights on dimmers throughout, a furnace and an air conditioning unit, a 24" flat screen HD tv with basic cable, an internet connected Blu-Ray DVD player and high speed wifi. We also try to be green, so we use energy efficient appliances and recycle what materials we can. ABOUT TRANSPORTATION AND/OR PARKING: A majority of our guests use Uber or Lyft to get around. They are very inexpensive here in LA, and typically only a few minutes away at any given moment. If you'll be renting a car, we provide a hangtag for street parking here in the restricted parking neighborhood. While there is no dedicated parking spot, there's often a space out front or within one block in any direction. We'll tell you the best/easiest places to look once you arrive. ABOUT THE LOCATION: West Hollywood is located between Beverly Hills and Hollywood. It is a prime location for anyone visiting LA and central to just about everything. Attractions nearby include theme parks (Universal Studios, Disneyland, Magic Mountain, etc), live entertainment (Hollywood Bowl, Pantages, Laugh Factory, etc), tourist destinations (The Hollywood Sign, Kodak Theatre, Hollywood Walk of Fame, The Sunset Strip, etc), outdoor activities (Santa Monica Beach, Hiking the canyons, Malibu, etc), world class shopping (Rodeo Dr, Melrose, The Grove/Farmer’s Market, etc) and so much more. All the major studios are within a 10 mile radius. LAX airport is 13 miles to the south, Burbank airport is 9 miles north. UCLA and AFI are close by, as are Cedars-Sinai Hospital and the Pacific Design Center. ABOUT OUR GUESTS: Please make sure your Airbnb profile is complete. When sending a message or inquiry, please tell us something about yourself and the nature of your visit. Also, we can make more relevant suggestions or bring up certain LA highlights if we know a little about the purpose of your trip. *For the assistants, agents, reps and/or friends who would like to book the cottage on behalf of someone else, we appreciate and understand what you're doing, but we can only accept bookings from the profile of the person that will be staying in the cottage. We thank you for your consideration. Restaurants, shopping, live entertainment, Hollywood nightlife, it’s all here. Please check out the photos, they really speak for themselves and show you what you can look forward to while here in LA. It’s an amazing space in an awesome location that really is one-of-a-kind. Thanks for visiting. There's a rose garden right outside the front door. The private back patio is all yours. I always respect the privacy of my guests. I live in the main/front house on the property, so I'm never far if there's an issue or you simply have a question about something. Airbnb message tends to be the preferred method of communicating by guests in the past, and that certainly works well for me! West Hollywood is one of the most sought-after locations to stay while in town. The guest house is centrally located, very safe, and well maintained. Nearby is access to some of the city's most renowned spots. Traditionally, transportation by car is the most convenient method of getting around in Los Angeles. Uber and Lyft are about 30% the cost of taxis, so most guests simply use those shared ride services. We have a major bus stop 5 blocks away at Santa Monica Blvd and Fairfax, so public transportation is also an option. I've included menus for some favorite local food delivery places in the binder by the front door. Other food delivery options include the apps GrubHub, Eat24 and Postmates, and online at Yummy. Feel free to ask about recommendations, too. Also, there are starter amounts of laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, toilet paper and a few coffee pods. To our international guests: please ensure that you'll have a way to communicate once you land in the US (through text, Airbnb messenger or phone call). That way, you can contact me if your plans change, if there's a significant delay, or if you just need to reach me (of if I need to reach you). Thanks in advance. Private entrance is through a courtyard shared with our home. In addition to a full size bed with new tempur foam mattress, there is a full size Murphy bed for kids or other adults plus a sofa. Less than a mile south is Sunset Blvd with lots of nightlife. To the east is Echo Park, downtown Los Angeles, Dodger stadium. Hollywood is 2 miles west. Freeways 101 and 5 are within one mile drive. This is a proper apartment registered with the City of Los Angeles and thus gets a safety inspection once a year. Pool and porch overlooking pool and patio. Pool has a lock on the gate for security. Entrance doors have keypads- no keys. As little and and much as desired. Just say "hey, give us some ideas on where to go" or just treat this as a hotel stay and we'll stay away. We live next door so some one is usually here. We have a Boston Terrier dog who shares the yard. He's very people friendly. The apartment is in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Central Los Angeles. Downtown is 12 minutes away by car. Access to two major freeways is easy. The area is a great base for walking and exploring. Ride Share is typically $45 from LAX. Bus stop is on the corner. Metro link station a $6 Lyft or Uber ride away. LAX is 25 to 75 minutes away depending on time of day by car. Alt is Flyaway bus service between LAX and Union Station. $9 plus taxi or Lyft to Silverlake. Burbank Airport is 25 minutes by car. Apt is situated over our garage so there is a rumbling noise you will hear when the roll up door rises. No air conditioning. Fans and a breeze keep it comfortable but at times in summer it's going to be warmer. Swimming pool is right outside for cooling off. We have a Boston Terrier dog who does roam the yard. He's very friendly but let us know if we need him confined during your stay.
