My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. A perfect place for two at Tryon Farm. Over 110 acres of nature preserve to enjoy on the farm, just outside the door of this barn style unit. Maintained trails meander around the woods, meadows, wetlands and ponds. CLose to National Lakeshore & Indiana Dunes State parks. Kayak rentals near by. Close to breweries, wineres & variety of great dining options. Fire place is wonderful to cozy up to, so this perfect place for two is great any time of year, but directions to use must be agreed upon .
