Have stayed here 3 times now and it never fails! Beautiful place with everything we needed and more. A short drive into newcastle town for some food or you can order to the house on Newcastle Eats which John suggested. Hot tub was great and underneath a shelter perfect for irish weather! Outdoor sofa was a great touch. Looking forward to my next stay :)

This is simply a delightful place to stay: peaceful, beautiful and with a rare spiritual dimension in that so much of Mike's personality, passions and enthusiasms infuse everything within and without. We felt totally at home and left feeling refreshed and restored in a way seldom experienced before. Indeed, we felt we were departing from a friend.

We had the most incredible stay! The house was amazing and the surroundings were breathtaking... We would highly recommend this stay and will definitely be coming back 😊❤️

Elsie’s Cottage is a nice and relaxing place to stay. Check in was very easy and seamless. Yvonne gave us all of the information we needed and even communicated everything we needed to know prior to our arrival. The hot tub is a great addition!

Great place, in a nice and remote area. Just off a busy road you can hear some traffic but that’s totally fine. Our kids loved the garden, played some badminton, and we also enjoyed some food in the seating area outside. Spacious rooms - we slept all very well. Nice size kitchen too and well equipped. Fantastic communication with Olga, who was always easy to reach and provided some good tips about the area! We could see ourselves being back some time. Belfast/ NI is always worth a visit.

This place is a little haven. It was cosy, comfortable and very peaceful. Although it is in the countryside, proximity to Lisburn and Royal Hillsborough are a short drive away. We had our little dog Ted with us and it was so safe to let him run around outside as all securely fenced. Pauline was friendly and responsive. I would highly recommend staying here if you want peace and beautiful surroundings. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

The cottage was excellent in every way. Well-fitted out and spotless. John and Roberta were responsive, engaging hosts. A month was well spent, indeed. We could recommend the cottage without hesitation!

The cottage is perfect. The cleanliness was second to none. The welcome our dog got was fantastic and the areas for her to run around in were brilliant. The outside hot and cold taps were well used. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. The offer of having the log burner lit for our arrival was an especially nice touch. The beds were comfy and clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The only problem we had was finding the gate off the main road but that was purely due to horrendous fog which is nobody’s fault. I would recommend the cottage to anyone, not just dog owners.

Myself and my husband stayed at the barn for our daughter’s first Christmas, along with our golden retriever. It was the perfect home from home, with a cosy interior and idyllic surroundings. We were there for two weeks but really felt like we could’ve stayed a lot longer! Really couldn’t recommend the barn enough. We’re already planning our next trip back!

We were blown away with how beautiful the property is as well as the stunning and peaceful location. Very clean and comfortable with all the amenities we needed and a lovely welcome pack - it felt like home. John and Roberta were very welcoming and ensured our stay was comfortable and were very responsive to any questions we had. Also very knowledgable about the area and its history. Janet's lovely house was perfect for our needs, being right in the centre of Saintfield, close to great attractions and countryside, and well equipped with everything we needed for a short family holiday. The property was described perfectly and Janet was a great host, always reachable and eager to ensure our stay was as pleasant as possible. We would highly recommend this beautiful home for anyone looking to stay in the area.

I had a lovely stay at the cottage. It's right in the centre of the village - lovely to the cafes, Hillsborough Castle and the forest by the fort.

This bungalow was perfect for our family of 4 staying for a wedding. Very convenient (20 mins) for Belfast International Airport. Very comfortable beds. Lovely views. Useful to have two x WCs. Very peaceful and private. Great advice from Rachel to have supper at Lily's Kitchen in Glenavy which had excellent food and quick service. Eurospar about 5 minutes away for provisions. Rachel was very responsive and we were able to check in at our leisure. We felt completely at home.

Welcoming, charming and friendly host, who provided all the amenities we were looking for. Very comfortable and a great place to return to after a full day out visiting the sites and sounds of Belfast. We opted for using buses and to walk to get around. We were very near a good bus route into town.

We Stayed at Hemp Cottage from the 3rd to the 16th of August 2024 - It was lovely meeting Rachel and Tom who are very freindly and provided us with tips and some Salad from the garden. Our girls fell in love with Lola the cat who is very freindly and waited for us in the Morning and Evening and the cottage and the surrounding garden was a great thing to have to unwind after travelling to see family and friends. The cottage is a very clean and well designed place and its location is very good for Tours anywhere in Northern Ireland and beyond to Dublin. We stayed relatively locally as my family come from Moira but I saw a lot more of Strangford and the area around than I would have done if I rented a place near where I live. Its abpit 25 mins to Belfast 70 mins or so down to dublin and the seaside and Winterfell for Game of throne enthusiasts is just around the corner so its a bit of a gem for Couples and Families wishing to relax. We had an amazing stay at the cottage and felt immediately at home. It was so comfortable and peaceful. The provision of groceries and freshly baked biscuits was such a treat too! Pamela was a great host and very welcoming.

Booked very last minute for anniversary surprise and an absolutely amazing stay! Everything there provided, relaxing and clean all round. Martina and Anna were so helpful in providing all updates and making sure we felt right at home. Cottage is perfect for a couples get away or a group get away. Lovely and spacious with a private hot tub and lovely setting throughout the cottage. Will definitely be returning thank you!

We had a lovely stay! The rooms were really comfortable and we enjoyed meeting the donkeys and alpacas and exploring the grounds.
