Elizabeth, the host, went above and beyond to accommodate me at the last minute (same day booking and check-in) and continued to be gracious and flexible during the days that followed. The cottage is lovely - both country and modern. The grounds are exceptionally beautiful with rolling hills and private trails - part manicured, part wild - which is what I love about Germantown. Elizabeth is a font of local information and stories. Plus, she fosters dogs and I was lucky enough to meet one of them. I'm looking forward to coming back.

The home is truly beautiful and the host were amazing and responsive. this is a great location and a wonderful getaway from the NYC area if you're looking for something relatively close by but that feels like it's very different and distant. I am hopeful of the opportunity in the future to visit again because I truly enjoyed the stay

Our fourth stay was just as great as all our other stays! We are always happy returning. Terri is a wonderful host, extremely responsive, but always gives you privacy. The property is beautifully landscaped, and a quiet retreat. She provides everything you need in a very clean loft space. Her gardens are a sweet place to sit and enjoy the flowers and sounds of nature. We love that we can get to so many places in the Hudson Valley because of the location and then return for a comfortable stay. It’s starting to feel like our second home.

Gethen's cottage is prefectly located near Hudson but also with no more than a 30 min drive of other villages in the western part of Columbia county. Walking the local roads provided us and our dog with lots of interactions with the local goats, pigs, sheep, chickens and sometimes dogs! Stargazing is also my husband's hobby and he loved being able to ramble the roads on clear nights. The kitchen in the cottage was definitely workable and we loved the induction stove.
