Vickleby is located in the World Heritage Södra Öland Cultivation Landscape, on the edge of Stora Alvaret, with its unique flora and at two km distance to the sea with swimming or windsurfing at Haga park, or bird watching at Beijing Port. Five minutes walk to Capellagården.

Vickleby belongs to Unesco World Heritage Site. The well-preserved and picturesque village street is an attraction and is considered one of the finest on Öland. Designer Carl Malmsten founded his school Capellagården in Vickley with artistic focus. The resort is open to visitors and one of Öland's most visited tourist destinations. There is a cafe and a shop with fine craft products and self grown plants for sale. The Vickleby Alaska attracts many flower lovers. In the month of May, a sea of orchids is spreading out.

During the spring, the small village street between Karlevi and Eriksöre is a well-traveled stretch with its flowering slopes and fragrant lilac bushes.
