“In light of the CV crisis we were delighted to be greeted with a packet of Ajax disinfectant wipes! Karen did everything to make sure the space was tip top for our little family. She had a great collection of entertaining & intelligent DVDs so we could get away from all the media madness occupying our minds at this time. We made the mostof the coffee machine, the ample breakfast provisions kept us satisfied, the beautiful views & the other natural delights (like the visiting troop of kangaroos) soothed our weary souls. Karen filled us in on the local hot spots . Our superhost clearly loves where she lives & loves sharing that with visitors. Her passion for India is reflected in the decor (without being over the top) - but it has that lovely Victorian country house feel too. Our child loved the homely feel of the place too & loved being there. Karen also gave us advice on where to eat, shop & get even more coffee. :) Good tips! The location is perfect (not far from Melbourne) & the town has great amenities for a delightful weekend away. We especially enjoyed the local pub - good, reasonably priced food for a range of budgets. Thanks Karen for giving us a great weekend & helping us make some special memories.”
An almost entirely open plan house with a vast master bedroom upstairs and a bunk room downstairs, the house sleeps up to six, with a modern kitchen, wood fire, outside deck and large garden, set close by the Wombat State Forest. Suitable for children over five. Pet friendly. Blackwood 'Treetops' is also work friendly as the house has a large desk with landline and internet access. Due to the coronavirus, we are taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations.
“This house is a standout in so many ways and great value for money. Frauke is an exceptional host, very kind and considerate in checking in that all is well with unexpected touches. The garden is magnificent and has lovely herbs but what is most fascinating of all is the bird life. Cockatoos, rosellas, lorikeets and kookaburras abound. They are the only thing that will infringe on you peace at this place. The house had two queen beds and two single beds so great for families, couples and groups of friends. There is a wood fire heater in the living room and other heating available and the house is very open plan but cosy at the same time. Great kitchen amenities. Lots of books and games to while away the hours. Close by there are plenty of walks, the mineral springs and other activities/attractions in nearby towns. There's a local pub, a cafe and general store in Blackwood. It's very close to Trentham (14km) and Daylseford is 39km away. We had such a pleasant and peaceful stay and would highly recommend Frauke's place.”

“Acre of Roses was the destination for our 25th wedding anniversary and we had a really memorable time. There is not a detail that’s been over looked. The provisions included in the accommodation are generous and of a very high standard. Sandy was a wonderful host who even arranged a private chef to come and cook and lovely dinner for us. We look forward to coming and staying again sometime.”
