The waterfront is the Vanaja waterway extending from Hämeenlinna to Tampere (length about 80 km ). Nearby, 7 km (10 min) is the famous Aulanko Nature Preserve. This national monument houses a golf-course and spa. One of the main tourist attractions of southern Finland, is the Medieval Hame castle, constructed in the 13th century. Winter time you can do cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowboarding, ice fishing and snowshoe trekking.The nearest ski center is in Sappee (30km)
