“We spent a week at Geir's cabine in winter 2020. We will remember it as one of our best travel experience. Hearing nothing but the sound of the wind in the trees, watching the Northern lights from the doorstep, enjoying the cosy and warm cabin, relaxing inside the sauna and driving on the scenic routes of Senja. Moreover Geir was very attentive with us : he came to clear the snow after snowfalls, answered quickly to our questions and even gave us some local products to taste.”

“Really beautiful apartment in a great location to explore the stunning Senja island. In the apartment everything was like described, nothing to complain. Toilet and shower were in the main building, but in the summer time that wasn’t a problem at all. Apartment was tidy and really stylish and had all the equipment needed.”
Inside from the couch, can you enjoy the midnight sun in the summer time and the northen lights in the winther. Really quiet and sheltered. Perfect place and thake a brake from everyting. The apartment is on the first floor and has large windows. It is in the nature surrounded by the ocean, white coral beaches, islets and reefs, you can see this trough the apartment windows. The apartment has wi-fi and everything else you might need. You can park the car right outside the apartment.
“Why would you stay here? Ok, let's get to straight to the point. All the positive reviews you will read about the hosts and the apartment are 100% true. So BOOK the apartment. You will NOT be dissapointed. What would stop you? The distance? Having to hire a car? The remoteness? Ask your self why your visiting Norway so far north! Car hire easy, winter time all cars have spikes. Norwegian drivers are careful and the roads are extreamly well maintained. There are buses travelling to Sommarøy also. Tromsø is a nice city but if your visiting to see the lights or wild life then you need to realy stay outside. The city will EAT away your money with your only escape to the bars and restraurants. (Yes it is expensive) A days visit is more than enough. So you book your northern light tour (125€ pp) may be you get lucky and see the lights, may be not (no guarantees!) If you do see the lights and I mean really see the lights then you will want to see them every minute of every hour. They are amazing. Thus your problem is that you will probably re-book another tour (hire a car) or are dissapointed because you can't see the lights due to the light pollution from the city! This is why booking a car and staying at this apartment is perfect. Once at the apartment there's even a bench to sit on with blankets to gaze the whole night at the sky. The windows in the apartment are fantastic also. Getting from A-B is easy. Walking and exploring the town and hillsides are truely relaxing and if your looking for a truely relaxing break looking for Dear, Whales, Eagles and even your own sanctuary then book this apartment. We have travelled extensively in the 15 years that we have been together and I can say with my hand on my heart that when we revisit Northern Norway we will be staying at Sommarøy and it will be back at Franks & Gunn Toves. Trust me because that is exceptional because we love new things, but when you know it's right. It's right. Thank you.”
