We didn’t even mean to book this Airbnb and Jacob was so kind to let us check in the next day instead. Very beautiful, well taken care of home, 10/10 would recommend and stay again.

We very much enjoyed our stay. It was peaceful and quiet and there was plenty of room for our group of 10 to spread out. The beds were comfortable and the sheets soft. Plenty of fluffy towels. Good, fresh coffee beans. Grilled steaks one night and had a big variety of seasonings to choose from. Grandkids voted it their favorite Airbnb. Mahalo!

Overall, the host is extraordinary receptive and reactive of a host - what you'd like for in an Airbnb host, especially with all the selection there. Location is can't beat, and the ease of everything also stood out. I didn't like the outdoor screen on the porch (it was molded and badly broken, surprising considering it wasn't caught previously). The host had it fixed brand new within 24H. I would say the unit is smaller that photographed (I was surprised, but it was comfortable for one person). Would be tight with two. You should also know it appears to be an addition onto the back of the garage (although the finishings are top notch). That just means there are two other units that you'll need to be aware of from a noise perspective. Private ish yard area by a quaint outdoor porch. Really appreciated the touch and proactive nature of the host. Made the 3-week stay in the end a 5-star stay despite early challenges. Well done.

I love how the place was decorated of the Star Wars theme. My boys are huge fans of the franchise. The kids had lots of fun seeing all the decor, playing with toys, and adults played the board games. The house was very spacious for a group of 11 of us. The house is cool because the lava burned down the house next door and there are steam vents now in front and all around the property making it look like a land from Star Wars. There was A/C in the home which was great because it can get warm and humid sometimes. There was still hair in the shower in the main bedroom but I think it’s because the hosts maybe live there and it was booked last minute. The host greeted us and showed us the place quickly and they made sure we had everything we needed. The house was pricey but super cool for one night and worth it to see my boys nerd-out for one night and just be in awe with all the cool decor.

We stayed 4 days here with extended family in the smaller home on the same property and it was great. The kitchen was well stocked, there was plenty of space for our family of 5 (larger group was 10 total) to spread out. The best part was the beach across the road with good snorkeling (stronger currents so be careful) and lagoon with turtles. Plenty of outdoor gear to borrow- SUP, kayaks, small boogie boards, water shoes and snorkel/fins. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved our stay. We stayed four days and we are sorry to be leaving such a comfortable and spacious home. The location is beautiful. The house has everything you could wish to feel at home: great bedrooms, well furnished kitchen, ping pong room, kid friendly, lots of books and very responsive hosts to make our stay perfect.

The place was exactly as described. It was very clean and well organized. All the stuff in the unit were high quality, all worked well. Really only issue is development is under some construction and some of the front parking was sort of closed off while the back by the unit was under construction as well. Very minor and I would recommend to anybody to stay there.

We enjoyed spending a long weekend here. Cynthia and the staff on site are very knowledgeable about the island and recommendations. We really enjoyed spending time in the hot tub. We also enjoyed having the opportunity to mingle with other guests on site. Would stay here again

If you’re looking for a relaxing place to stay, it’s here at Kapoho’s Paradise! - totally off-grid and hidden away! Great layout with 3 bedroom en suites downstairs with sliding doors to the outside/pool area. The living, dining, kitchen, half bath and large lanai overlooking the pool and beautiful landscaped yard complete the upstairs. Very spacious and comfortable!! Wayne’s a great host. Very responsive and helpful when needed. Thanks Wayne for sharing Kapoho’s Paradise with us!

What a wonderful experience! Staying with Kristen was the perfect Hawaiian holiday. The space was double the size of a traditional hotel room for half the price. We enjoyed our morning coffee in our screened in private indoor outdoor kitchen, surrounded by the jungle. Located about a half hour from Hilo, it is just minutes from historic Pahoa Town, with many restaurants, bakeries, souvenir shops and that old town charm. For a modern experience there is a new Puna Kai shopping center with even more restaurants and and a supermarket. We loved the location, and our stay we were able to drive the Red Road and visit the ‘new’ Pohoiki Beach created by the 2018 lava flow, as well as other beaches and stop for snacks and smoothies at ‘Uncle Roberts’ in old Kalapana.. We also took a day trip to Hawaii volcanoes park, and another black sand beach called Punaluu. On our third day we visited Hilo town and found another 5 miles of beaches there. The stay at Kristen’s space felt like old Hawaii. It is not a corporate hotel and may not have all of the same amenities, but if you need some thing not provided, Kristen is a great host able to provide it, or let us know where we could get what we What a wonderful experience! Our stay at Sina's place was wonderful. It was more than what we expected. Sina was responsive to our inquiry about lights going dimming off and on, explaining that it was related to the main power line. It wasn't a big deal and appreciated the explanation. We enjoyed the cool breeze throughout the house, well-equiped kitchen, pool and outdoor area to grill and hangout. We had a relaxing stay at your beautiful home. Thank you.

Can’t say enough good things about Ginger and her place. To start, Ginger was a very proactive and responsive host. She made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived, gave us a tour of the place, and recommended a lot of great places on the island. As for the place, you can’t beat the price! It is a little far out, especially if you don’t have a rental car, but the area and nice and private, and the stars light up the sky at night. Ginger provides us with all the amenities we needed for our stay, along with clear instructions for both check in and check out. Thank you again for hosting us Ginger, we can’t wait to return!

We had a wonderful time staying at Kristen's place in Pahoa. She was such a great host. Very quick to respond to our questions and requests, provided great local tips, and an overall great person to get to know. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a home on the east side of the Big Island, either for a few days or for a longer stay. Very comfortable with a big bedroom, fully stocked kitchen, and living room. Jungle living at its finest!

Stayed in one of the bungalows for 3 days with my 11yr old. Off-grid made the stay extra special and allowed ample time for us to spend quality time together, discovering all the property has to offer. Robins communications throughout were quick. Loved listening to nighttime wildlife. Location is perfectly located between hot springs and black sand beach. Came here looking for property. This trip reaffirmed my choice. Love. Love. Love.

We had a wonderful stay at Vicky’s place! We loved the beautiful, serene outdoor area, and we had everything we needed inside. We were prepared for the chickens and coqui frogs at night/early morning, as we had been to the big island before, so we brought earplugs and a sound machine and slept great. The location was conveniently located close to the town of Hilo but still far enough out to be peaceful and quiet. We would definitely stay here again!

Truly loved the comfort of the home.. the decor of Hawaiiana and we felt so comfortable like we were at a family home. The rooms were amazing, beds comfortable, bathrooms fabulous. A warm mahalo a nui James for sharing with us your beautiful home.

Larry was incredibly responsive and kind! The house is tucked away from central kea'au and hilo, the neighborhood is very quiet. Parking is available. There are many roaming chickens around the property but that is just Hawai'i in general. The stay was very enjoyable :) the place is definitely cabin vibes but it was nice to retreat after the busy festival weekend.

This place was so amazing :) recommend checking in during the daylight to get acclimated and find the site easily.

Extremely communicative and hospitable. So many personal touches to make us feel welcome at a home away from home. Would absolutely stay again in the future!
