“Our stay at Castlecor House was simply delightful! Loretta and her family greeted us so warmly and shared the most interesting details of their historic home. We felt very much at ease during our entire 3-day stay. Travel and the wintry weather made us a bit weary, so we especially appreciated some time retreating to the comfortable drawing room. The room is large, but felt very cozy. We were restored by the crackling fire, hot tea, hot whisky, and homemade mince pies. Many handmade holiday decorations created even more magic. The cooked breakfasts were very generous and included Loretta’s delicious homemade scones. Loretta very kindly packed up some scones and coffee for us for our early morning drive back to Dublin. I’m still thinking about them! It was really a joy to stay at Castlecor and a rare opportunity to see one of Ireland’s great old buildings being lovingly restored. We were happy to be part of the Castlecor story, if only for a few days. 🍀”
