A cosy, small, traditional stone cottage on the Isle of Lismore, in one of the most picturesque places of the west coast. It sits right in the bay at the end of the Great Glen and is surrounded by stunning mountain views. Please note: Lismore is an island that can only be reached by either of two ferry services. After your booking we'll send you an extensive welcome pdf with all the information you need about how to get here and how plan your stay.
“This is a truly lovely cottage. It's ideal for one person or a couple looking for a calm and cosy retreat to enjoy this amazing part of the world. We had very wintery weather so really enjoyed staying in lots! The fire was great and kept us cosy all week. The kitchen is brilliant and had everything we needed for cooking nice dinners. The bed platform is small and slightly tricky, but if you move the bed a little away from the wall you can sleep two people fine, listening to the rain on the roof is very cosy. The bathroom and shower is great, really hot water! There's lots of nice warm welcoming touches like slippers, hot water bottles, blankets etc. Plus a great selection of books and good WiFi. One tip I'd like to give future visitors - the local shops on Lismore and over on Appin (10min ferry from Lismore) are really great and stock everything you might need from all your normal groceries to plant based milks to nice wines, newspapers, etc. We stocked up in Oban before our trip so didn't use the local shops much but it seemed a shame when we realised how well stocked they are - buying from them is a great way to support the local economy while you're on holiday. Thanks Julia!”
One bedroom apartment. Situated directly under McCaig's Tower overlooking Oban, the flat is a short and somewhat steep walk to the town's centre. Simple & comfortable accommodation. It comprises of a livingroom/kitchen with stunning views over Oban Bay and beyond. A rear-facing double bedroom with (Winter) views of the Tower. And a shower room with large shower. The apartment offers the perfect base to explore and enjoy all that Oban and the West Coast has to offer.
“Such a wonderful place. The perfect location to run up the hill and take photos of beautiful Oban from McCaig’s Tower at sunset and get the first light of sunrise too. The apartment had so many little touches which made it feel like home, was beautifully clean and they were really quick to respond and answer any questions. I’d so happily recommend them to any of my friends in the future (unless I wanted to go there myself that week!)”
'Skerryvore' is situated in a quiet residential area within walking distance of Oban town centre. Comfy and attractively renovated, our 3 bedroom house is an ideal base from which to enjoy the many delights of Oban and the surrounding area.
“Elaine was a wonderful host and her house had 3 rooms with 1 washroom. The living area had an excellent view of the mountains along with tv equipped with Netflix. The beds were comfy to sleep on and the kitchen has all the basic stuff incase you wish to cook stuff. Groceries shop like Tesco and lidl are 5 minutes drive and the ferry port is about the same. I had forgotten my ticket prints for the isle of mull ferry and Elaine came to the rescue by getting the prints late at night. I am very grateful for that and she totally deserves 5/5 on all fronts. Thank you so much for having us!”
