Come and stay awhile! Unwind and enjoy a relaxing stay in our 1790’s farmhouse with many original features, situated on 120 mostly-wooded acres in southern Maine. Our farm features a commercial maple syrup operation, 200 high bush blueberry plants, a vegetable garden, pumpkin and berry patches, a variety of fruit trees, honeybee hives, miles of old logging roads for walks, skiing/snowshoeing, meandering brook, patio and outdoor fireplace, free-range chickens, and two large rescue farm dogs.
“Staying here was a treat. The 18th-century touches and the working farm embodies the spirit and bounty of New England. The first thing you notice pulling into Maple Moon Farm is the gorgeous farmhouse, white linens drying on a clothesline, and truly free-range chickens roaming adorably. The property itself is huge and expansive—you can hike in the woods (past the immense grove of maple trees, tubed for sap season), enjoy the wood-fueled stone fireplace on the patio (we grilled steaks one night), or explore the lush gardens (plus a historic family cemetery on site). There's also a picturesque gazebo and relaxing hammock chairs! Frank and Jenny were amazing hosts, and I wanted to particularly call out their (1) extremely attentive and clear communication before and during the stay, (2) thoughtful small touches including fresh-picked berries in our fridge, loads of fun board games and books, old-school farm equipment as tasteful decor, and bug spray and ear plugs in the bathroom, and (3) suggesting activities that respected our need for minimal social contact due to Covid precautions. There's WiFi and air conditioning, but no TV, which is the perfect level of modernity to me. The bed was super comfy and smelled really good :)”

“Norma’s place was everything we hoped for and more. Being steps from the water just can’t be beat!! We spent every moment we could outside enjoying the views and water access and had a great time. As is mentioned in other reviews, the neighbors are very aware of their surroundings and are very close by, but they mind their business and are rather friendly when you’re respecting the area. Having the kitchen stocked and access to the washer and dryer was also so convenient, as it can be easy to make a bit of a mess coming in and out from the lake. There was plenty of room for all 7 of us to stay comfortably. Overall our stay was very comfortable, relaxing, and we’d love to come stay again!”
Beautiful, quiet and secluded lakeside cottage. Enjoy amazing sunsets on our pristine lake. Swim, kayak, fish or just relax and take in the natural beauty. COVID UPDATE: We know everyone has different levels of concern regarding the virus. Please know that while we feel our sanitation and cleanliness of the Cottage is exceptional, we have doubled our efforts providing multiple cleanings between guests.
“Joseph's cottage is a lovely place for a lakeside getaway. Joseph is an incredibly gracious and hospitable host. He offered us rides on his jet ski and pontoon boat, offered to help us build a fire, and even offered to come get me on his jet ski if i got caught in the rain or a storm while kayaking. All kind touches that helped us feel cared for during our stay. Our favorite part of the place was the kayaks available for use. My wife and I are both novice kayakers and the boats Joseph has are very stable, so great for beginners like us. We really enjoyed spending most of our days paddling and floating around the lake, checking out the little islands, local birds, and stopping for swims. The fire pit is also quite nice for toasting marshmallows after a long day and Joseph provided wood, so we didn't need to worry about that. Covid wise, the place was impeccably clean and included notes about extra adjustments they're making due to covid. Joseph wore a mask when interacting with us and maintained social distance, both of which were very appreciated. The place also appears to be recently renovated (or built), so overall, a very clean, modern feel in the cottage. There are also lots of trees along the lake on the property, so we brought hammocks and set them up. Would definitely recommend doing this if you have travel hammocks. Would definitely recommend and we hope to make it back one day!”
