“This place was just what I needed for a mini-retreat. The cottage was just as described. My favorite time was in the evening when you could sit on the little deck out front, listening the the cows mooing and rooster crowing in the distance, and nighthawks and other birds calling. The location was very private and peaceful, in the woods, in the country. The occasional car going by on the road was the only noise you heard. Be sure to realize that there is no TV, no cell service (I have Verizon) and the wifi was spotty. The best wifi connection is when sitting on the front porch, but still doesn't allow video downloading/uploading. But for me, that was a fine break from technological interruptions. Also be aware that the food prep facilities consist of a small refrigerator, a small microwave, and a bathroom sink. Lorraine responded quickly to my emailed questions during the stay (after I asked about eating the wild berries around the place, she brought me freshly picked strawberries from her garden.) But other than that, she was an "invisible" host, giving me the privacy that I appreciated. I stayed with my 2 dogs, and we were able to take nice walks on the trails on the property. Also, there are lots of beaches to take the dogs to: Westport (Half Moon Bay), and Tokeland (just north of milepost 20, you have to climb over a few breakwater boulders to reach the beach) were my favorites; often had the beach pretty much to ourselves. Sightseeing through the little towns around Willapa Bay was interesting and laid back. Lorraine's place is a great choice to get away from it all, where I will come back again to stay.”

“My husband and I chose this cabin as our home to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and we could not have been more happy with our choice! Heather was soooo sweet and left us a few bonus surprises to celebrate our weekend (the makings for s'mores, lit candles, and a cute sign saying "Happy Anniversary"). The home was the perfect getaway for our two dogs to run around and explore. We loved having a view of the sky in the hot tub and even saw a few shooting stars! There was a great lawn game shed which was also an unexpected surprise. The king bed was really comfortable (in our experience airbnbs typically have the cheapest beds they can get away with, but this one was definitely quality). We also loved the location! It was remote enough to feel secluded but close to stores and restaurants. We had a lovely breakfast at Sheila's Kountry Kitchen. We also took a short drive to a beach near Westport for some doggy off-leash time, sea lion watching, and bbq nachos at Aloha Alabama Bbq. This was the greatest getaway my hubby and I could have ever hoped for!”
Located on the meandering Grays River, this is the perfect spot to escape the hustle and relax river side. Bring your paddle board, kayak or boat for endless exploration.
“We love getting away and we love being out in nature, and this place delivered everything we were hoping for and more. The house is located next to beautiful Grays River, amidst gorgeous farmland. There is a very small town nearby, and people were friendly. The house itself was really fun—for adults, children, and dogs too! We loved the unique, interesting rooms. The decoration was great—every room a different color and modern and vintage furniture; being in the house felt like being in an authentic and soulful place. We loved sleeping upstairs with our kids close by (two beds near a window overlooking the river, such a great touch). The kids loved the unique space up there and often chose to spend free time there. The rooms in the bunk room were everything we would have hoped for, complete with beds and a bathroom as well as space to store one’s things. We all loved outside—kids explored, climbed trees, had so many adventures. Adults loved exploring the area too, and hanging out at the fire pit, which was wonderful. The dogs were in heaven, and the pile of doggie goodies were a huge hit. We enjoyed heading to Astoria and checking out the bike path at Long Beach...both were easy drives. And it was lovely to return to our quiet, beautiful spot. Loved it, can’t wait to return! Also I should note: Jena was a fantastic hostess! Communication was prompt, and she was always considerate and thoughtful. We had a couple of “oopsies” while there and she was so understanding and kind—which I appreciate so much! We hope to visit again.”
