“I spent two wonderful months (Dec. & Jan) at Pedro’s Place trying out the Canadian snowbird thing. (Retired Canadians tend to fly somewhere warm for part of the winter.) The setting is rural but buses, Bridge Supermarket and Carter’s Bakery are within reasonable walking distance. If you cook for yourself in Pedro’s wonderful kitchen, take note that you can get free-range eggs and chicken from Dierdrie at Tinker Bell Farm, just down the road from Pedro’s. Pedro is a kind considerate host and I watched him do various courtesies for guests - he rents out more than one room. I enjoyed meeting people from around the world and with most of them taking in one or more of the many interesting sites to visit. I plan to return for another stay, hopefully sooner than later.”
A fairly large 1 bedroom apartment with combined lounge and kitchen. Shower and toilet facility within the apartment. A separate front door entrance with a small patio outside. It is 50 steps to go downhill to Maxwell Coast Road whereby there is a supermarket and bank. The enterprise beach is about 500 yards. Oistin fish market and small local restaurants are all on the Maxwell coast road less than 5 minutes from the apartment.
“Nigar and Neil are very welcoming hosts, they are giving you loads of advice and they are always in for a chat. The apartment is a good place to get into the Bajan culture and lies in a nice area. Living room (including TV, AirCon, fridge and a fully equipped kitchen), bed room and bathroom are spacious and clean. Public transport, taxis, grocery store, plenty of small local restaurants and beaches are close by. It is good value for money and worth a stay! Thank you for your hospitality!”

“My partner and I visited Barbados for the first time and stayed at Emril's home for a week in early February. This is an excellent option if you are looking to visit the island while being cost effective and more low key than if you stayed at a resort. We took a quick taxi ride from the airport and Emril greeted us when we arrived. She oriented us to the space which was very clean and had everything we needed, including AC, a porch, and a small kitchen where we cooked breakfast some mornings. The airbnb is located in a quiet area: theres two cafes and a beach that is primarily used for surfing that is a 10-15 minute walk. There's a minimart to buy groceries. And there's a ZR taxi stop at the end of the street that comes frequently. This was a 10 minute ride to go to Oistins and Miami Beach. The taxi goes all the way up to Bridgetown for the same fare (3.50BDS) and so this made it an easy way to explore this coast of the island. It would be a bit difficult to explore off of this ZR taxi route but not impossible, you'd just need to rent a car, which Emril can arrange with her daughter for a discounted rate. We rented a car we opted not to use but this was very easy and well organized! Overall Emril was very attentive: she explained how to take the bus, food options, and checked in on us each night to make sure we were doing okay, and arranged a taxi for us to go back to the airport at 4am. We really appreciated her hospitality! Overall this airbnb is a great value and I would definitely reccomend it for a relaxing visit to the island! We even saw a monkey hanging out in the mango tree by the porch :)”
