The Lodge at Tangled Oaks is a superbly converted barn on a six acre property on Monterey Bay. Positioned half way between Monterey and Santa Cruz, Tangled Oaks is directly inland from Moss Landing at the center of the bay. The stand alone 1000 square foot Lodge is finished in shiplap walls and tongue and groove ceilings. It has a full kitchen and bath as well as a fenced back yard suitable for dogs. The Lodge is regarded as a warm, welcoming place in a beautiful California country setting.
“You will LOVE the Lodge at Tangled Oaks. Nancy and Alex have outdone themselves with this gorgeous opportunity to rest, relax, and rejuvenate. As the sun makes its daily trek across the sky, there is always a bit of the Lodge property in sunlight and always a bit (or more) in shade- so you will always find what you're looking for if you're looking to spend time outdoors. There is complimentary tea, coffee, oatmeal, and water bottles- as well as refills on major basic kitchen and bathroom essentials. This is a GREAT find and you should stay here at your earliest convenience. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.”
Distance yourself from the crazyness that has become our new normal. This is comfortably warm space to unplug, read a good book, watch for whales and dolphins or take long walks on a practically deserted beach. Or just go crazy: fly a kite, kayak, paddle board... Our beaches are located 200+ yards away from public entrances. Lot's of room. Very few people. Our housekeeping staff practice highly enhanced sanitation procedures. Happy to share those with you before you book.
“Marc's place has a good view of the ocean and sand dunes. The place was comfortable and decorated very homey. It's like you're staying at a friends place (but you have to pay). I especially enjoyed Marc's pictures and decorations. You don't feel like you're in a staged house. You're in someone's home or vacation home. We stayed 3-nights in mid-July. The weather was in the 60s and 50s, so we never needed the heater or air conditioning. We did utilize the wood burning fireplace. I brought some oak firewood that I intended to use on the beach. I read somewhere that there were fire pits on the beach. I never saw any! So, the wood came in handy for fires in the unit. With Covid-19, we didn't want to go out to eat. We cooked in all 3 nights and Marc's kitchen, pots and utensils were helpful. The walk from the unit to the beach using the ramp requires you to only go up three steps and down one to get over the sand dunes and onto the beach. This was very helpful for our mother who is 78 and has bad knees. From the parking lot to the unit has no stairs at all if you utilized the ramp to the second floor, which is where Marc's unit is located. They also had carts available which was very helpful to wheel the ice chests and other heavy supplies we brought. Being on the second floor, you have a unit below, above and on each side of you. I think we lucked out for the first two nights and mornings we were there, because we weren't bothered by any noise. However, on the last morning, the guests in the unit next door decided to take a shower at 5:45 in the morning. You can definitely hear the water running and the fan! I just got up, made coffee, started a fire and watched an old movie on TCM. My wife stayed in bed and tried to ignore it (unsuccessfully). I guess I shouldn't have mentioned the night before about how I hadn't heard any noise. I jinxed myself. When you are on the balcony, you can definitely heard all the other guests on there balconies and patios, drinking and eating. I wasn't a big issue, but I would prefer a lot more privacy. But, when you're in a multi-unit complex, you have to expect noise. For one day and night, the unit below us had a barking dog. In summary, we had a great time! We wish the weather had been warmer, but you can't control that. Again, we chose July thinking we would have warm weather. We recommend Marc's place. And, if we choose to comeback to Pajaro Dunes, we would not hesitate to book Marc's place again.”
This newly remodeled studio is spacious, very private and comfortable. The California king bed, duvet cover, sheets and pillows all new. Amenities include electric kettle, toaster, french press, plates, cutlery, cups glasses, etc. I do not offer breakfast but there's a selection of snacks, tea and coffee and anything you might need to open a bottle of wine or two. The patio and comfy outdoor living room is also for you to relax and hang out. A gas barbecue is available to cook on if you wish.
“Can't say anything that hasn't already been said. Jenny's place was perfect. Thoughtful touches throughout the space. Very nice outdoor patio that I wish I'd had more time to enjoy. Would not think twice about booking again in the future.”
