A comfortable and peaceful base with everything you could need on your adventures in Wānaka or Central Otago. The space has been set up with an attention to families (pets included!), couples, and working professionals. The backyard is private, fully fenced; an oasis safe for all pets and/or children. We hope you enjoy starry-filled nights while relaxing in the spa and gaze at the wild native garden with tasteful evening lighting. MTB guests are welcome - only a 500m ride to Sticky Forest.

A 2020 built one storey modern spacious home (approx 260 sqm house and studio) situated on a hill boasting amazing lake and mountain views, whilst still being a short walk to the lake and Wanaka township. Sun drenched, warm family home with separate living and bedroom wings with a connected partially covered central deck perfect for outside dining. Guest feedback excellent eg Charlie in Aug 2023 said "excellent house, view was awesome. House is much better than pictures and pictures were great "

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Located in Albert Town near the Clutha river, it is a 2 minute walk to the Patisserie, Four Square shop, Pub and Takeaways, with a great swimming hole a 5 minute stroll from home. The home has a sunny sheltered deck and I am often on hand for any tips and tricks, as I have moved into my back yard garden. There are two bikes and two kayaks available for use as well. We have cycle tracks in all directions to explore the surrounds.

Loads of room for the whole family in this 4 bedroom house, with wonderful indoor & outdoor entertaining areas, close to the community pool, a short walk to the lake and less than a minute to sticky forest mountain bike park and walking trails. The house has a wrap around deck with sliding doors from both the dining room, lounge and master bedroom. The back deck has an outdoor table, couches and Weber bbq. The house is fully fenced, and we are happy to take dogs by arrangement.

Perfect for 2 families

This lovely home had everything for our family of six. The end with loft bedroom could be closed off for extra privacy for adults which was great. Main living areas were great. The fire got a workout and kept us warm. The bedrooms also all had heaters which helped on the cold nights. Kitchen had everything we needed. We eventually found the microwave in the laundry. Plenty of bedding and other supplies. The location of the house is fantastic. Arrowtown is such a beautiful place with plenty of great places to eat. The Arrow River is a very short walk from the house and is a beautiful walk. It’s also well located for travel into Queenstown and Wanaka. We would definitely stay in this great house again.

Great stay and location. Perfect for our time in Wanaka attending a friend’s wedding, plenty of space for 3 couples and would also be well suited for families. Host was informative and friendly, responded to messages right away and very helpful. Would recommend and would stay again.

Our stay at "the sun catcher" was great. The home was very roomy, clean and well positioned to the town centre. Our 3 night stay was very enjoyable. Home Base was very responsive and easy to communicate with. The cost of stay is on the high side but we do recommend the Sun Catcher to other travellers.

Terrific views on Totara

The location was great, but the house wasn’t quite what we were expecting. Quite an old place with dusty carpets. As long as you don’t have high expectations it is fine, but it was still a bit expensive for the level of house in my opinion.
