Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Lake Victoria

We stayed at Katie’s place for a couple weeks and it felt like home away from home as we used to live in this area of Kampala. It was clean and comfortable. The upstairs and downstairs verandahs were both very nice, with a beautiful view of the city from the top one. The co-host Candice was the best Airbnb host ever! She answered all my questions and was super flexible with me when we needed extra help. Sam and Isaak, the guards, were helpful and friendly as well as Sarah who came to clean throughout our stay.

The solar house very quickly became our second home over the 7 months we stayed there. We were beyond thankful for Damian, Anna, and their precious children who were extremely kind, helpful, available and attentive. The solar house is an ideal location for families. Our two young children loved the home and the compound and it was within walking distance of their school. The solar house is a bright and welcoming home - and it has smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detector which are nearly non-existent in Mwanza! We highly recommend this house for short or long term stays. We hope very much to be back! Asante sana Damian, Sam & Ina!

We had a lovely family stay at Brittany's beautiful home. It is located a very walkable distance to local backpackers/restaurants and the neighborhood is very peaceful and comfortable. The house itself is lovely -- well-equipped with plenty of space and comfortable amenities. We would absolutely stay there again.

Ashraf's place is as displayed. Very clean and comfortable. The host was kind to let me checkin early and there was care taker on stand by to help with anything. Definately a rebook when in Kampala next.

Everything is perfect, clean and tidy house, well furnished, great hot water, there is security at the gate and a lady who manages the cleaning. I also had very quick laundry service. The lady showed me a trusted driver and restaurants. The only negative note was missing the soap in the house but I was told in advance. There is a mosque nearby that calls for very noisy prayer at night and many dogs barking, but of course the host can't do anything about it and in Uganda they are commonplace.

If you look for a place to rest after a long trip Or a long day you got it here. If you look for an amazing private quiet place here you got it

We enjoyed our stay. The building and appliances are brand new so the apartment feels very fresh and clean. There are good views of the lake and the compound feels very secure. It's a fairly long, but pleasant, walk to the main road, but it's not difficult to get a boda-boda (motorbike taxi) ride if preferred. The hosts were good communicators and met us on arrival to show us around. We would stay there again.

I had the pleasure of staying at this lovely Airbnb from May 18th to May 31st, 2025, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable and comforting stays I’ve ever had. The Apartment was really nice and it looked exactly like the pictures. Stuart was always available and very helpful, and the caretaker also took good care of us. All in all, we felt very comfortable; it was a great stay in Kampala. Thank you!

Great place,i would recommend for anyone. But some bit of loud music in the neughbourhood bars , cars , motorcyles and passing people especially on bedroom sides

Overall great stay, would highly recommend anyone visiting Kampala area to stay in this place. In the pictures, there is no dining table so I asked for one. But when I reached the place, I was surprised to find that Geofrey had a table already placed upon my request. Would definitely come back!

Jackline the host was very responsive and made it super easy for me. The apartment is well furnished and pristine clean. I was especially relieved to learn that it had air con given how humid Kampala was in February. Definitely worth the value.

Excellent Stay. The communication of the host Erica is impeccable and the responses were very quick which made for a very smooth check-in experience. The apartment is centrally located in a very secure location, adjacent to a mall whilst the apartment still being quiet and private. Location wise, it was handy as being close to shops and restaurants, you could always get groceries or whatever you wanted conveniently, Also a special mention to the cleaners, who kept the place impeccably clean and to Haron, the site supervisor who was very helpful always. I definitely will be staying here again and I highly recommend as the best place to stay when in Kisumu. Thanks for the hospitality. 5 Stars all the way!

Ashley is the host you hardly forget about even after leaving her place -a beautiful human-. She ensured we had a pleasant stay at her place, welcoming us in person, ushering us into the apartment and providing recommendations on activities and restaurants to visit. She was proactive and always available to respond to our queries. The apartment looks same as in the pictures. The kitchen is well equipped and this really helped as we prefer to eat home cooked food. Everything was clean and neat. It will definitely be our choice next time we return to Kampala.

I like this place. it's spacious, luminous, and close to shops and restaurants. it's a quite place and the swimming pool is an added plus to entertain children during the weekend. The apartment very clean and the host very responsive
