Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. The Round Haven with Big Glen Lake Access

We are situated in the heart of Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore and a 300 ft walk to a secluded public access on Big Glen Lake. Outpost Treehouse

The lookout inspired Outpost Treehouse (not actually attached to a tree) sits in a white pine forest in the middle of a 50 acre active farm. The 15 hand crafted windows allow for great views watching out for Michigan wildlife--White tail deer, turkeys, owls, coyote have all been spotted from the elevated wrap around deck. The biggest regret that guests have noted is “we wish we would have stayed longer”!

Tiny House on the river

Our beautiful remodeled tiny house is on the river. You can kayak or canoe or fish, or swim! There is a small kitchen/grill outside and lots of room for kids to play or adults to relax and view the river! There are near by trails to walk on. If you get bored here Shipshewana is very near by and plenty of places to eat , shop or go to evening shows. Also the family’s flea market is tue and wed.
