Cabin holiday rentals in Lake McDonald

This was a perfect spot for our day trips into Glacier and it was so much fun to finish each day with a dip in the hot tub. Everything was clear and easy to find. We will definitely recommend this location to friends and family.

My husband and I booked this place for our 19th anniversary. First trip to Montana and it did not disappoint! We had the best time! Denise was helpful with places to check out for hiking and food. I will note that a good portion of the Going to the Sun Road was closed for the season as was the Whitefish Ski lodge (it opens back up in Dec for skiing). However we still enjoyed our stay and could get as far as Avalanche Lake trails on the GTTSR. Lake McDonald was beautiful and we had two clear days to see the mountains. The house was clean and spacious, and the view was amazing. There is a train that runs every two hours very close to the house but honestly didn’t disturb us too much. Columbia Falls is a beautiful little town and this house is great location from airport, shops, restaurants and hiking. We plan to come back to explore more of Glacier Park. We loved our stay!

We really enjoyed The Roost. Had 10 of us and there was plenty of room. Nice Front yard to play frisbee or throw a football, but bring it with you. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub in the early mornings or evenings after a hike. The place served our needs very well and we would definitely stay there again.

Brian's cabin was absolutely perfect! The beds were insanely comfortable, the cabin was very cozy and had everything we needed! The property and views were like a dream! Our boys loved playing in the yard, swinging on the swings, and playing on the beach. Brian was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely book again! Totally worth it!

Without a doubt the finest vacation rental we have ever stayed in, and we've stayed in quite a few. Beautifully equipped kitchen (very important), pleasant ranch setting, and a working excellently maintained hot tub. What more could you ask for. Ten minutes from downtown Whitefish and about 40 minutes from West Glacier, it's the perfect location. Thank, Sharon.

The cabin was the perfect honeymoon spot. Will definitely recommend to everyone. Area was beautiful and peaceful and we loved the wildlife that visited daily. Everything was perfect on the inside and outside of the cabin. Local towns had great food and things to do.

Staying at Patrick’s place was amazing!!! The house was so cute and very clean and the view was breathtaking. I really enjoyed the hot tub at night and the heated bathroom floors in the morning, especially after hiking in Glacier. The Airbnb being so close to the Many Glacier entrance was also a huge plus. Patrick was the best host and always responded in a timely manner even if it was late at night or early in the morning. His check-in and check-out rules are very straight-forward and easy which was super helpful. Overall, this whole experience was a 5/5 and I would definitely stay here while visiting Montana again!!

Great stay with the family. Responsive host. Comfy beds. For those of you staying in the dead of summer, follow instructions on how to keep upstairs cool. I stayed in June so it wasn’t that bad. For folks wanting to cook outside, buy lighter fluid and charcoal at the grocery nearby. Charcoal grill works just fine. Firepit is great but as the host noted you’ll need firewood. We rented a 21’ pontoon from the host-recommended Big Fork Rentals and had it delivered at Echo Lake.

This is a great place to relax. Has everything you need, is peaceful and the view is terrific. Sunsets over the lake and a sky full of stars. George had all set up perfect for us. We will stay there again.

We had such a wonderful stay at this cute and cozy cabin! It was even more charming in person than in the photos. My boyfriend, our pet, and I felt right at home the moment we arrived. The cabin was spotless, and the bed was incredibly comfortable perfect after a long day of travel. The location is peaceful and relaxing, with a balcony that looks directly out over beautiful Flathead Lake, absolutely stunning! Booking was a breeze, and communication with John was fantastic from the start. He was extremely responsive and polite throughout our stay. After we checked out, I realized I had forgotten something, and John got back to me immediately to help. Truly above and beyond! We’ll definitely be booking with him again for our next trip back to visit family. Highly recommend this little gem!

We wanted to stay close to Glacier National Park with an outdoorsy feel and ability to cook. Christian’s place was all that and more. The cabin is beautifully done and they’ve thought of everything you might need so it feels like home.

My favorite AirBnb stay by far!!! If I could give it 10 stars, I would! The Chickadee Cabin is so cozy and comfortable. I appreciated all the dog amenities, since I enjoy traveling with my dogs. Carmen had great local recommendations for hiking and everything else. She is also so kind and friendly, even helping my elderly dog with some medicine. I would go back in a heartbeat. Loved this area of Montana and highly recommend the Chickadee Cabin!!!

I just spent the last 6 nights here & Matt is such an amazing host! He responded to all my questions quickly upon arrival. The first day I was there I ended up getting my car stuck while backing up & he was there to pull me out within 5 minutes of me calling! He gave me a few recommendations for beautiful hikes & was very friendly! The veiw from the porch was so peaceful and private. Very comfortable and cute inside the cabin! Even with a hot water shower and small refrigerator provided. lots of spaced for sitting and cooking. There are some of the best hikes outside of glacier national park that are all dog friendly 30-40 minutes from the cabin. Bigfork is a very cute town just 10 minutes away with some awesome shops downtown. Would definitely stay again!:)

If you’re looking for a place to stay near Glacier NP or Whitefish, go ahead and book this place! After traveling for 20 hours this was the perfect place to arrive to and felt like home. It was spotless, had some supplies we forgot to grab at a quick gas station stop (coffee), and the decor is beautiful. My husband and I eloped in the park and this was a perfect starting point. If/when we return we would definitely stay again!!

Look no further than this quaint stay! Easily accessible to Kalispell and West Glacier, my wife and I had all the privacy we needed with this spot tucked away against a mountain, zero traffic, brisk walk to a farm of llamas and deer grazing for miles, it was perfect for us. The kitchen is big with lots of space to include a big bathroom. Katy was proactive putting her best foot forward before we even got there. Deer were bedding in front of the kitchen window and lots of trees where we had privacy…and the best part was a super comfy bed to top it all off; wish we could have stayed longer!

What an awesome stay. The place was great, the host was lovely and so friendly, and we loved getting to play with her dogs. We absolutely stay here again.

Cannot say enough about how much we loved this place! On paper the proximity to the owners made me hesitant when booking but it wasn’t even noticeable while we were there. Jennifer was a massive help and gave tons of recommendations for the area, the cottage has bear spray if your going hiking, and she provided a full tank of filtered water for us that lasted our whole week! Gus the sweet Aussie pup was a huge bonus too, so so sweet and loved fetch! Don’t pass up on this place, the view, the atmosphere, the location, everything about this place is perfect!

Great stay, great and communicative host, convenient location, nice amenities, slept like a baby. Shared bathroom better than expected, very clean, hot water, and not busy as there are only a couple guesthouses. Only downside is there is a highway right a couple hundred feet behind the cabin but otherwise great place, would stay again.

We loved our stay here! The location is beautiful and the cabin is darling. Very clean and welcoming and had all that we needed. We would highly recommend it and hope to come back. They were very responsive and helpful.

We loved the location at West Glacier and James home is perfect for a family gathering. It has a great layout with plenty of space. A well supplied kitchen made cooking enjoyable for my family. The setting is private and dreamy so close to the river and golf course. Thank you James for creating such a comfortable space for our enjoyment.

Great little cozy cabin. We liked this one better than the bigger cabin we rented. If we stay here again we would get this smaller cabin again. It doesn’t have much, but it’s clean and free of any smells.

The cabin is easy to find and a great place to stay by Glacier National Park. It is nicely decorated and has all the amenities you would need.
