Lovely and cozy place to stay. The breakfast that Trish prepared is amazing and she has provided a lot of great food recommendations for us.

In the small town of Fox Glacier, this is a big house!Heating/kitchen is fully equipped. Bathroom and toilet are separate for everyone's convenience, but the toilet ventilation is not very good. The owner will prepare a simple breakfast of bread and eggs, and homemade fruit jam. Very good taste. Stayed for two nights. The quality of sleep is extremely high. You can see the beautiful Milky Way and stars when you go out to the back garden at night. There is Netflix. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the city center. The scenery along the way is beautiful. I recommend everyone to stay.

Gibbs’ guesthouse is absolute perfection. From the incredible vistas, to the outdoor bath (!!), fireplace, and sumptuous linens, it is a gem and one we will long remember. We had the pleasure of staying here for three nights in mid-June. We were lucky for incredible weather for the most (morning frosts, crisp, sunny days, and cosy, clear nights against a backdrop of incredible stars); using that to our advantage, we flew up to the glacier for a morning on the ice, and used the guesthouse as a fabulous base for other hikes around the area. For one of the days, we were cosy inside with the fire burning and playing many of the games in the cupboards. Perfect relaxation! The guesthouse is appointed beautifully, and Sarah (our host) very responsive and warm in her communication. It’s very easy to find, and just far enough out of town to be very quiet and relaxing. Do yourselves a favour, and book a stay here. You’ll not regret it!

Beautiful house with lots of space for guests. It was a great place to spend the night. Debbie was really helpful as rain threatened to scupper our plans and gave us peace of mind for alternative options if we needed to cancel our plans.
