Family-friendly holiday rentals in Lagoa

A really lovely villa, photos don’t really do it justice. It’s very spacious and there was plenty of room for our group, 6 adults and 3 young children. The pool and play area were very popular. Lisa and David were great hosts. They provided everything we needed and more and were very good with communication and info. Some lovely personal touches for our stay left in the villa too which were much appreciated. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this villa and hope to return again sometime.

great location, can walk to the beautiful cliffs and local beaches in 15mins and even to Algar Seco or Carvoeiro in under an hour or get Ubers easily for around €5. Several lovely restaurants in 5- 10 mins walk. €45 in an Uber from Faro airport. Villa is lovely, pool great, showers excellent and beds very comfy, kitchen well equipped with utensils etc. Ursula lives next door and has windows that face and overlook the pool but she had blinds closed and gave us privacy all the time. She always messaged and knocked on the front door if she needed to speak to us. she was really responsive to a couple of little queries we had. There is a little supermarket less than 10 mins walk away that is open til 9.30pm so we could get basic food even with an evening arrival. This was a fantastic peaceful location away from the tourist town but within easy reach when you want that. Ursula and the villa are great. We will definitely be back to the Algarve. We had an incredible stay in this beautiful property - almost too good to share! The apartment is perfectly positioned with spectacular sea views, plenty of space and everything you need for a comfortable stay. The thing that really set it apart, however, was the hospitality of our host, who went above and beyond to share local recommendations and make us feel at home.

Great host, the communication was great and whenever we needed anything Susie answered very quickly. Lovely place, quite neighbourhood. Villa was a great space and homely. The kitchan is well equipped. Loved the outside area with the hot tube! Everyone locally friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. Thank you Susie .

Everything was perfect! The accommodation was in perfect condition, very clean and close to the city centre on foot. The pool is a real plus! I recommend it:)

Our stay was wonderful, the townhouse is beautiful and in a very peaceful spot, yet so close to town! The hot tub was great in the evenings. It was super clean and has beautiful Portuguese charm. The space is large and private, it is nice to park your car right at the door to bring luggage in. Communication and recommendations were good. This place is an absolute gem in Portimao! It is situated in the perfect location - this is what really stood out. It is located right on the marina which is walking distance to the beach and sports center if you like surfing. The boardwalk is very close and it feels very safe. The space has a homely feel and just peaceful with the loveliest balcony with enough space to sip coffee and watch the boats, play cards or sun bathe. Romano made everything super easy for us by checking in early to when we couldn't figure out the air he was very responsive and helpful right away. He went above and beyond making sure we were comfortable and everything was easy for us. We loved everything about this place and we are already thinking when to come back!

We had a good time with a large group in the house. The pool was awesome and with the heating very warm, so that it was nice to swim there in the beginning of April, the Whirlpool was also a highlight. However, the furniture was quite used, some of the kitchen gear not so good anymore (there was no single sharp knife in the whole house), I think that should be better for the price.

This is a great place to stay, the apartment is lovely. You can walk into Ferragudo with lovely restaurants cafes and beaches. Parking is easy . Friendly neighbourhood. Great

Everything worked out for us and we can fully recommend the apartment. A short walk through the garden to the beautiful beach is just perfect. It was also great that we were allowed to enter the accommodation much earlier than usual on the day of arrival. Thank you again for that.

Amazing place for relaxing and vacationing! Fantastic house, very tidy, everything works, the house is beautiful, the pool was perfect. Perfect location of the house. Walking distance to the center of Carvoeiro. However, you can have some privacy at the house. The village of Carvoeiro is just lovely. Lots to do and see even though the village is quite small. Great restaurants and lovely cafes. A special mention that the house is next to its own vineyard. Wine is good:) One bottle ready for house renters in the fridge; part of the stay. Our family enjoyed the house so much that our daughters would already like to come back for a couple of weeks. Highly recommend. Antonio was also nice as a host. Friendly and considerate.

The villa is absolutely lovely and had everything we needed for our 1 week stay. The swimming pool is a 1 minute walk away and comes with 2 sun loungers. It didn't get overcrowded and was perfect. we tried most of Michael's restaurant recommendations and in absolute agreement with him. we also hired a car which was handy and used an Uber to get to restaurants which was super cheap too. we would highly recommend Michael's villa and the only regret we had is we didn't book 2 weeks instead of 1!!! My wife and I spent a month at Casa Pescador and really enjoyed our time!! Sergio and his associate, Cristina, were very helpful! We could walk out our door and be a minute away from the mercado to pick up a few groceries, or find a nice place to dine in one of the many restaurants close by. The beach and boardwalk were a highlight for us as well as the cliffs and caves. Don't miss taking a boat tour of the caves along the coast! Thank you Sergio and Cristina for a wonderful place to stay!!

Driving a car, the garage parking was awesome. The only suggestion I would make is to have some pictures of where it is for check-in. The view from the balcony was great. The location was fantastic. Walkable to restaurants and right around the corner to the beach.

The place was exactly as the pictures showed. The beds were super comfortable as well and the location was beautiful. We will be visiting again!

We had a wonderful stay at Susanne’s place. The villa is really unique and full of interesting items and books. It was spotlessly clean and had an excellently equipped kitchen. The garden is lovely with so many beautiful plants. You will find countless places to sit within the house and garden - always an opportunity to have some time alone if needed! Susanne communicated with us very well and whilst in Portugal, we found Monika to be very helpful. She gave us lots of tips and we had a good time in her lovely bar! It’s an interesting part of the Algarve with lots to do and see. Weather was changeable but we still enjoyed daily swims in the pool. Thanks to you both - we would love to return one day!

Lovely house for a temporary "home". It doesn't feel like a vacation home but like a ‘vacation home’. Spacious, with all comforts and a great view. Lots of attention to detail.

Well equipped and accurately described property. The location is amazing for exploring the local beaches and walks. Not too far from shops and surprisingly quiet considering the location. Would definitely stay again 🌞

Absolutely amazing stay at Praia de Marinha for our multigenerational family holiday of 12 people. The house and facilities were just as described, had everything we needed. Pool was fantastic and cooked a couple of BBQs outside. The oven is older and a bit temperamental with only 2 of the 4 hobs working but we managed it. We arranged transfers via mini bus from the airport (Faro) and hired a small car which was fantastic for popping out to get groceries every few days. The mini van couldn’t get down the bumpy dirt road so did need to carry our cases to the house from the Praia de Marinha carpark which was ok for us but some might struggle. All amenities were clean and tidy, the beds were slightly hard but I guess that’s personal preference. Remember to take bottles water and loo roll with you as you shouldn’t drink the water and was none in the house, also only 2 toilet rolls in the house for 3 toilets - thankfully we could get to the shops with our hire car. All in all, 5 stars!

We had a lovely stay at Karin and Kees's villa! We stayed 2 weeks with our 2 children (teens). The villa is very well appointed with 3 bedrooms (all with en-suite bathrooms), very well equipped kitchen (we appreciated all the cooking supplies and extra-large fridge), and dining and living areas. Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, and there was AC in every room. The best part is the location and the grounds - the villa is located on the top of a hill so there are lovely views from the 2 terraces (shaded) where you can eat overlooking the pool. There is shaded parking, a BBQ, and outdoor shower. The location is perfect - minutes (drive) to some of the region's best beaches (Marinha, Carvalho, Grande) and the town of Carvoeiro. Highly recommend renting a car and visiting: Secret Algarve (sea kayaking), Club Nao, Borda da Cais (Ferragudo), and Thai Beach Club (Villamoura). Kees was very flexible and we appreciated everything he did to make our stay more comfortable. Highly recommend!
