Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Kokatahi

Iconic west coast views and walks. Perfect stop for our short stay and maximized time on the Tasman. Steve’s home is exactly as described and great for a large family. Great kitchen and living spaces Ultra clean linens and comfy beds. Walk to the water. See the kiwis and so much more. So grateful we had a special stop.

A delightful place. Set in real cool surroundings with a great view over the lake. Kayaks and the hot tub are a great bonus. Although the hot tub takes a long time to heat. But well worth it.

We enjoyed our winter-weekend stay at Gary’s place. Nice quiet location close to beach and cycle trail. Great wood-burner with lots of firewood. Very useful garage for bikes.

My husband and i were on our honeymoon and felt that John's house was the perfect stay for some quiet and privacy nestled in Castle Hill. We absolutely adored our drives to and fro Castle Hill and Christchurch as the views were just fantastic. The house was super cozy. Waking up and having coffee by the balcony watching the mountains and listening to birds chirping was the perfect way to start our mornings. At night, we spent hours sitting by the fireplace. Truly a blissful experience and I highly recommend it to couples or even families who want some serenity!

Spacious, comfy and homely. Great fireplace which warms the home and heaters in bedrooms. So many bathrooms and bedrooms. The kitchen is huge with everything you could possibly want. The setting is magical and we even got to watch the dogs working. The dogs are so friendly and loving. It’s a real homely place. We loved our stay!

Nature place and quite. We could chop wood to keep warm. But do not cook strong smell food in house, there is no range hood.

Such a peaceful and private setting but still only a few minutes from Hokitika. House was so airy and light with gorgeous views of the mountains and lovely bush nearby. The trails were a delight out to the pond and kept our children entertained. The decks on different sides of the house meant depending on where the sun or breeze was, you could sit in comfort outside. Multiple living areas meant the adults and children were not on top of each other. Lovely bedrooms, great beds, super kitchen, yes it certainly ticked all the boxes.

This was a lovely place to stay, I wish we had more time here on our trip. Super clean, nice amenities, friendly staff, beach access with cool stones to look at while the waves roll them over and over. We somehow lucked out and were placed in a private corner of the resort. Kids would have a blast here with all of the extra activities available.Sunset was stunning to experience. I would use their other locations in NZ too if I travel this way again based off of this experience.

Our stay at Ross’ place at Terrace Downs Windwhistle was so picturesque (once the weather cleared). Property was as show. In the pictures and approx 50mins drive from MtHutt ski base. Be aware no shops nearby so take everything you need with you. Methven is approx 30mins. Would recommend for peaceful stay.

We have never stayed somewhere as incredible. We were nervous being on someone’s property but Steve is absolutely amazing. Super kind and left us to our own devices after checking in. The fireplace was absolutely worth every penny. The bed was beyond cozy (especially with the heated blanket). The luxury features really elevated the space. The bathroom floor is heated along with a heated towel rail. The shower and bath are even more stunning in person and the vibe in the backyard is phenomenal. He even has a parking space right up to your gate so parking is super simple. We will most definitely be back here! This is where we will aim to stay anytime we visit in ski season seeing as Methven is only a 30ish minute drive (a stunning drive at that). The lights also, so fancy and smooth. No glaring lights early in the morning. It allows for a nice slow start to the morning. And the back veranda also has an awning which meant that we could chill back there without the morning sun! Well the pictures instantly appealed- but it’s much larger in real life. The accessibility for me of being able to check in at 9pm was very helpful and as I had a lot of gear with me having the door at the front was very useful for loading and unloading. The details in the memrobilia were very interesting and yet a classic collection that was visually appealing A very classy apartment. Also much warmer and quieter that I had expected.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The space was immaculately clean and the beds were amazingly comfortable. The host was incredibly responsive and thoughtful. Perfect location with epic views across to Mt Hutt. Would definitely book again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Amazingly peaceful location with a great view towards the mountains! Lovely for a retreat.
