Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Kilifi County

Lyn was a nice and helpful host. She has sent us local recommendations and contacts ahead of our stay and was also making sure everything is ok during our stay. The house is small but cute and as advertised in a very convenient location just next to the Sundowner and Clubhouse. The bedrooms are very bright and airy with huge glass sliding doors onto the patio. Only downside is that there are no mosquito screens for the sliding doors and upon arrival they were all widely open to air out the room. This has allowed lots of huge spiders to come inside. That’s the only downside though, everything else was great. Also the bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot with great water pressure.

Our family had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful house. Kathryn & Mark were great hosts, extremely responsive & friendly. The staff at the house were great and very helpful. We look forward to coming back again soon!

This place is definitely worth your time looking at. I thought I’d miss being right at the beach, but honestly, we looked forward to coming ‘home’ to Joseph and David and the calm, quiet, cool of Ruby House. We spent time reading, playing games, reconnecting and resting, as well as swimming and bobbing in the creek - listening and watching birds. It is so peaceful - chatting with fishermen, and just taking in the surroundings. We went for a few day trips- the Gede ruins are well worth an hour of your time, sand dunes north of malindi were great. And we LOVED Garoda Beach - much less seaweed and less busy. I could not speak more highly of the staff - they were present but not, flexible, understanding and really wanted to help make your time enjoyable. The rooms were so comfortable. I think it may be a little hot in the very hot month, but it gets a lovely breeze and there is always the one room to escape into for an afternoon nap if necessary - but we didn’t need to do this. Lorine’s place is amazing! I feel like the antique furniture and aesthetics of the colonial styles was flawless! I will definitely be recommending this place to all of my friends in the future. We had a wonderful 4 nights stay with family of 5. The owner responded quickly, send us very detailed information of all you need to know and arranged pick up at Mombasa airport. The staff is very friendly, helpful and at the same time gives you privacy. Reuben the chef provided us splendid meals, we especially enjoyed all the fresh seafood!Recommended is to do shopping before arrival because bigger supermarkets are 40 minutes drive away. Fruits, vegetables, water, fish, soda’s are easy to get in the village but for more luxurious groceries you have to go to the bigger supermarkets. You can book the pick up from the airport with a shopping stop in Nyali. Neen Tree is a lovely family house with marvellous view and direct access to the ocean. A friendly monkey family lives on the property and are fun to watch. Besides the pool we loved going snorkelling on the rif using the equipment from the house. For transport we used Tsuma with a comfortable 7 seater which we used for a Kilifi trip.

This was my second time staying at this villa, and it was just as amazing as the first—if not better! I came with a group of friends for my bachelorette trip (first time for most of them), and the experience was unforgettable. The staff truly made our stay special. William, the chef, was incredible—he made sure we were always well-fed, worked around our timings, and even helped with our daily shopping needs. Mercy and Tatu kept the villa spotless and were so sweet, even making us some chips one afternoon when we had a craving! Vincent ensured the pool was always clean and helped out with anything we needed. Our hosts, Philippe and Soltana, were so accommodating and warm. Even though the villa is for 8 and we were 9, they helped us with extra arrangements and were genuinely excited for our girls trip. They checked in often and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this villa if you’re looking for a relaxing, well-catered, and welcoming stay. I’ll definitely be back!

Fabulous little cottage close to the creek. Had a wonderful stay and Eddie was amazing, looking after us and full of local knowledge. He couldn’t do enough to make sure our visit was perfect

We’ve just had a great 10 day stay at Nyumba Yulia! The highlight for us and our kids was the amazing pool which was very well kept! We loved that it was a quick stroll to the beach - which is quite busy, but great at low tide for the kids- lots of rock pools to wander around and beautiful shallow water to wallow in. The house is in quite a built up area of Watamu so expect some noise and people as you step outside. The staff were lovely and helpful but not always discrete. Other small things we appreciated- block out curtains, aircons (definitely needed), outdoor shower. Easy enough to Tuk Tuk around, and overall a wonderful restful holiday for us!

A very comfortable accommodation with brightness and a priceless view. The accommodation is on the third floor, equipped with many comforts and appliances. Very comfortable bed and very pleasant terrace. Correct security staff and nice new restaurant on the same plot. Supermarket and beach within walking distance. Highly recommended!!!!

My boyfriend and I had an amazing, amazing, amazing time at this Airbnb! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the house manager, who made sure we felt right at home. The space itself was immaculately clean, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable- everything we could have hoped for. One of the standout aspects of our stay was the incredible hospitality. Every morning, we received a thoughtful check-in call to see how our night was, which was such a nice touch. The service providers were also fantastic- they ensured our place was spotless, security was top-notch, and they even helped us with our luggage. A special thank you to the team for accommodating our request for an early check-in and a late check-out, which made a huge difference given our itinerary. That level of flexibility is rare and truly appreciated. We absolutely loved our stay and will 100% recommend this place to friends. We’re already looking forward to coming back for another visit!

William's place was a haven of peace and tranquility from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. The place felt like a second home with amazing views, a very welcoming helper - Jonathan, whose food was always so delicious and amazing - and the pool, which was a highlight of our entire stay. we couldn't get enough of everything. We are very pleased with the listing and already making plans to return. I will highly recommend William's place as the best place for anyone visiting Malindi.

We had an exceptional time at Karina’s. This place is absolutely stunning and very comfortable, safe and secure. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for luxury at a good price. Housekeeping came every day and they were very thorough and the security was amazing. Such a magical piece of paradise and we really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you 😊

Even in very mixed weather, we had a great stay in Cecilias house. What we love is the style of the house, the pool, and that its right on the beach. The maid Rosie is very attentive as well as Cecilia who is very flexible and communicative. Looking forward to return:)

This place was absolutely beautiful - felt right at home! It’s a great, clean, and convenient base in Watamu. The apartment was spotless and so practical for our stay, with a fully equipped kitchen. We had an incredibly comfortable stay. The property has a pool and is right on the beach, with stunning beach views from our balcony - it was gorgeous! It’s also very close to the market and a lovely brunch spot that serves the best ice cream. Highly recommend staying here!

We had a great stay at Lucy’s place. Check-in was smooth and on time, and the place was clean and well-equipped with everything we needed. The swimming pool was amazing, and we were able to use it every day. The air conditioner kept us comfortable, and having a washing machine and iron was really helpful, especially with the clothes we brought. A cleaner came in regularly, which kept everything tidy. Getting to the main amenities and nearby cities was easy, and tuk-tuks were readily available to pick us up whenever needed. Overall, everything went smoothly, and I would highly recommend staying at Lucy’s place!

Susan’s place is a true gem. The beds were comfortable, always hot water and power, well equipped kitchen and a gorgeous pool and patio. Even niceties I dint expect like security cameras, house cleaning and a quality washing machine. You have all you need to live there autonomously. Next door is a great pizza place w vegan pizza and cocktails! Notes for families: the beach that is directly outside of Susan’s compound is not family friendly nor good for swimming (trash and khat chewers). But the cleaner swim able beach is just a 8 min Tuk Tuk ride away. Worth the distance to have such a gorgeous condo! The pool was shallow enough for my 5 yo to stand w her head above water but a short child or a younger child couldn’t stand. There is no “kiddie pool”

The house looks exactly like it does in the photos—no surprises, no disappointments. The view is stunning, and there’s a large shared pool that’s perfect for relaxing. Everything was very clean, and Silvia was incredibly helpful and always quick to respond. The location is unbeatable—it’s right on the beach, just a couple of steps away. Unfortunately, we visited during the low season, so we ended up going to Garoda Beach to swim. Still, I’m sure that during the high season, you can fully enjoy the beautiful beach right in front of the house. Overall, we had a great experience. If there’s one thing I would suggest improving, it’s the interior design. Replacing the bedsheets on the couches with proper covers would make the space feel much more polished—and truly deserving of more than 5 stars.

I spent two nights and had an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment I booked, Abdirahman was communicative and friendly, sharing clear arrival instructions and local tips that made my trip seamless. The space itself was immaculate and thoughtfully furnished. I loved the comfortable king-size bed, and the fully equipped kitchen that allowed me to prepare breakfast. The Wifi was good. The location is a bit out of the way from local central attractions, but I was using the space as layover on my way to Kilifi so I really didn’t mind. Plus it offered privacy and silence that I needed.

Our stay at Franca's went very well. We were well received, and the house helpers were very helpful. Paradise setting, the garden and its many swimming pools are perfect for a stay with friends and family! Beach Access. Proximity to restaurants and shops. I would recommend it!
