Guesthouse Agae is a limited stay for one group that has been renovated from an old private house.The property is in a very convenient location, with the Kumano Kodo and Chikaruo Prince approximately 550 metres away (about a 7-minute walk), and a supermarket (A-COOP), bus stop (Kodo Aruki no Sato Chikatsuyu) and restaurant (Tororoya) all within a 1-minute walk. As the owner is a local Kumano Kodo guide, they will do their best to answer questions about walking the ancient pilgrimage trail, provide advice, and offer transport if needed.We can also provide a personal guide, so please feel free to ask. And we are a small farmer who grows rice and multi-product vegetables, herbs, and flowers. We provide the rice and vegetables we have grown during your stay, as well as fresh eggs grown in Kumano. The kitchen of the house is also equipped with condiments and cooking utensils. We hope you will enjoy cooking with us. On the way to Nigishima, you’ll be greeted by the deep blue ocean known as “Kumano Blue,” and the house sits overlooking the calm waters of Nigishima Bay. To reach the house, you will need to climb approximately 50 steps (about a 5-minute walk), but a beautiful view and peaceful atmosphere await you at the top.

Mikiura Guesthouse

Reservation start from 2 person / 2 nights minimum. We accept only one group at a time so you will have exclusive use of the entire property. Guesthouse is a typical old Japanese house, not like a resort Hotel or Ryokan for business. We have no meal service. Mikiura village is surrounded by the clear blue sea and natural green mountains. You'll enjoy real Japan such as rural life experience, quiet time and beautiful nature.
