Shepherds hut holiday rentals in Kennet and Avon Canal

The place was beautiful and as expected. Katherine was very helpful and responded quickly to my queries which made the experience much better. The only thing I would advise is that prepare to do walking or you can get a taxi. If you have a car or if you don't mind walking that wouldn't be a problem at all. We walked through the meadow and saw beautiful horses which was worth it. There is also a pub that is about 5-7 mins walk and it closes around 9:30 pm so it isn't bad.

we had a superb getaway, ideal for timeout and a recharge. everything was as described and the mattress was so comfortable. is now on our favourites lists to return back to.

Loved staying here for a second year in a row. The hideaway hut is tranquil and the perfect break from a busy life. Love nothing more than relaxing in the hot tub and listening to nature surrounding us. Thanks again for another perfect weekend away!

Sam's place was a joy to stay at! It's an annexe of an old house on the high street with a lovely bedroom overlooking a courtyard and a spacious living room and kitchen area which overlook the garden. The garden is full of fruit trees and wonderful plants and is very well tended. A bathroom and a second toilet made getting out in the morning easy as well. Castle Cary is a wonderful town (recommend the Somerset Wine Company and the Gallery which Sam and his wife run!) We did use the jacuzzi (for an additional fee) and sitting in there listening to the live jazz from the bar and looking at the stars was a dream. We made a new friend in Bobby (the dog) who just wanted to play fetch Loved our night there and would happily return!

Amazing stay at Mark’s shepherds hut. Incredible location, super peaceful and as described. Well kitted out. We had a lovely BBQ and enjoyed some marshmallows say around the fire. The abbey nearby was worth a visit and had a swim in the river. Would definitely visit again. Thanks Mark.

Wow what a place! Amanda could not have welcomed us more, she is a super host, super friendly and the biggest, warmest smile. Such a beautiful and peaceful place to clear the mind. The shepherds hut was lovely and clean, with warm and cosy bedding. It was so much fun to just sit and look around at all the hand picked decorations, books and trinkets that all have a story and fit into the theme well. The breakfast was phenomenal and we thoroughly enjoyed eating it with no rush to leave the table. We cannot thank Amanda enough for letting us experience her little piece of heaven and we will most certainly be coming back.

Magical place! The setting is so beautiful, the huts wonderfully decorated, and with every thought given to comfort. My kids LOVED the stay, especially the chill out gazebos, and the fairy woods - truly a magical place! Communication was great, and Jenny really is a perfect host. We'll definitely be back!

Arrived at 3pm check in, the road down there is a bit hectic but fine if you take it easy, my Fiesta managed it just fine. The Hut on the Hill was exactly like the pictures, inviting and cosy, and Mandy and David had gone out of their way to make personal touches such as fresh eggs, fresh bread and beautifully creamy fresh milk. Usually when Ben and I have gone to other locations with hot tubs the towels have been small and limited, but Mandy and David ensured there were large towels, and spare, and sliders too! Plus some beautiful towel dressing gowns. Mandy was very responsive and reassuring when I wanted to ensure we were parked in the right spot. The hot tub was already warm and easy to navigate, and we slept so well in the bed! The dog too enjoyed his freedom which was a major highlight for us. You can order food and wine from the hosts and if we'd stayed longer, we definitely would of. This place was beyond our expectations and would love to come back.

Wow what an experience from the moment I arrived I felt at home. Duncan and his family are beautiful, kind people very responsive and accommodating. It was idyllic, peaceful, heaven on earth type of place with everything you need and all ecofriendly. A luxurious camping experience with hot showers, compost toilet and outdoor covered kitchen area. I was attending seminars and didnt get time to use the hot tub. 'Bob' the Shepherds Hut is amazing, good quality and tasteful furishing. The bed is so comfortable I fell fast asleep as soon as I hit the pillows. Lanterns are provided, wellies and I love the little fairy lights inside at night. My favourite thing about the place was the little swing as you enter the area, I couldn't resist having a go everytime I went passed. I would definitely recommend this place. I didn't want to go home. Will definitely return again thanks Duncan and Julie xxx

We really enjoyed our stay at Fiona’s Shepherds Hut. It was decorated and finished to a high standard, very comfortable and actually feels bigger inside than expected! The log fire was great (although it gets very hot very quickly, probably our fault and put one too many logs on, we actually had to open a window at one point!). Fiona was very responsive to our questions and queries, including when the solar power went off due to the poor weather. (The farm shop directly over the road also do an incredible breakfast!) Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and is an ideal base for a quiet weekend away. Thank you Fiona!

Has everything you need, absolutely idyllic, beautifully kept with lovely amenities, squeaky clean, clear instructions and great location. Already recommended to all my friends and family.

Anne’s cabin I stayed in was a dream come true. Been looking for a place to relax to and escape the busy life. The peaceful surroundings was a miracle and reminded me of home. Will definitely be booking again shortly.

Beautiful little pod with a lovely garden and hammocks and in a gorgeous location. Great for two preschoolers to charge about and have a whale of a time!

The Shepherds Hut was amazing, so cozy, clean and comfortable. Trish has thought of everything. The table and benches turn in to the bed base, with space underneath to store your bags. The bed was really comfortable and we both had a great nights sleep. The shower was great, towels provided. It's in a really quiet location and we had the added pleasure of seeing a glorious peacock on our arrival ! Trish is a really great host, lots of attention to detail such as: fresh free range eggs, cans of gin and tonic, chocolate biscuits, milk and a bottle of cold water in the fridge. Plus marshmallows for melting by a fire and a jar of sweets. Games to play, a folder with details of local pubs (all dog friendly), maps for local walks and booklets of places to visit. We recommend the Red Lion at Castle Eaton, a really friendly and welcoming pub, with very tasty food. We really enjoyed our weekend, so much to do and right in the heart of the Cotswolds. A wonderful stay at the Collie for 2 nights. A wonderful well equipped Sheppard's Hut and the extra special touches that Chloe provided from the arrival hamper to the hot tub being preheating for arrival. The views across the Somerset levels are beautiful and the night time sky was perfect for relaxing around the fire/bbq and in the hot tub. Thr local area of Glastonbury and cider farms add to this lovely weekend.

Fabulous place that is beyond what you would expect from a Shepherd’s Hut. Great thought and attention to detail has clearly gone into building and designing this place. It’s deceptively spacious and has got everything you need and more, the hot tub and outside seating are real bonuses, all in all a fabulous spot.

The most wonderful stay in the most beautiful little hut. From the moment I arrived I felt instantly relaxed. Emily has created the most perfectly peaceful space, inside and out. She is also a wonderful host & was able to help me with my forgotten item. Waking up to the sound of the birds, with the greenery outside the window was my favourite part. Emily’s hut is a delightfully comfortable space and the log burner keeps you very cosy in the evening. The village itself is also delightful to walk around, there is plenty to explore in the area and a great pub on the doorstep. The only downside was checking out.

We went to Cherrys shepherds hut for my boyfriends birthday. The location was very quiet with beautiful views. The shepherds hut was cosy, clean and very thought out. Cherry was a very welcoming host. Thankyou Cherry for making our stay a memorable one xxx

We had a great stay at Shepards View. Super cosy and in such beautiful surroundings - watching the horses in the morning was lovely! The location was perfect aswell, so easy to get to all the places to visit in the Cotswolds. Our dog loved the enclosed garden. Hosts were very helpful, not that we really needed anything but all instructions were helpful! Would highly recommend a stay!

We absolutely loved our stay at ‘The Bibury’! Only a short drive from Burford, it was a wonderfully peacefully escape in such a gorgeous setting. The facilities were fantastic and the welcome basket was a lovely treat on arrival - the wood-fired hot tub was an added bonus! The hosts were really friendly and helpful. We would definitely reccomend to others visiting the Cotswolds :)
