Unforgettable Stay at Cable Bay! My husband and I had such an incredible time at this beachfront Airbnb that we ended up extending our trip—honestly, we just didn’t want to leave so we extended our stay and extra day! The property offers stunning views of the ocean and provides direct access to the best beach in the area. Rosemary and Brian were fantastic hosts from the moment we arrived, greeting us warmly and ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Their thoughtful recommendations on local dining spots and nearby attractions really enhanced our experience. The location is perfect—there’s a fantastic fishery and a charming dairy just around the corner, so everything you could need is within easy reach. We truly had an unforgettable time and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend this hidden gem at Cable Bay!

It's a little hard to find, but once you get there you are rewarded with an amazing place to stay. Super chill beachy vibe with great outdoor area and fantastic view.

Lisas place at Coopers Beach was a wonderful find. North facing with stunning views along the beach and out to sea with and all day sun. Lovely to sit on the Deck and enjoy the view or lie in bed at night listening to the waves gently lapping the shore. Highly recommend.

I wanted a place that was quirky and this was it The caravan bedroom was very comfortable Kitchen and bathroom had everything I needed Having the yard fenced was great for my furbaby although she did like playing with the resident Labs!!! Loved walking along the beach watching the Kite surfers We didn't need to leave the property Having Netflix available was a treat as weather was very unpredictable!! Would love to return in summer!! A 5 star host!!!

Lovely, clean and tidy holiday spot. Perfect for our family of five as a base for travels in Northland and a restful place to retreat to. A short stroll to beautiful Coopers Beach.

We had a great experience at this venue! Initially, I was a bit hesitant about its proximity to the road, but it turned out to be surprisingly private. The modern setup was fantastic, and the atmosphere was incredibly relaxing. Jon was excellent to communicate with, he knew exactly when to check in and when to give us space. I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a stylish yet peaceful getaway!

Tyson’s Waterfront Bach is located very close to the ferry ramp in Okiato. It has a lovely view across the water towards Opua and is well-appointed, delightful, peaceful and cosy. Access to the water is good, the drive to Russell takes only about ten minutes and there is a lovely, local but at times tricky, walk through native forest. Within minutes of arriving, we were relaxed and enjoying our stay. So it continued for 5 nights. We’d come again. Thank you John

We absolutely loved our stay here! It was me, my partner, my sister, her partner, and their newborn — and the space was perfect for all of us. The house was fresh, clean, and beautifully maintained. Being right on the beach made it even more special — private, peaceful, and ideal for a relaxing getaway. The host went above and beyond by providing breakfast items and treats, which we really appreciated. There were also heaps of games available, which we definitely made use of and had a lot of fun with. You can really feel the care that’s gone into creating a welcoming and comfortable space. We’d definitely love to come back — highly recommend!

This is such a lovely place to stay. So central and easy to walk all around Piahia. Place was beautifully presented, beds were very comfortable. We had a great time and my girls were sad when it was time to go home.

Rhys and Kas’s home exceeded every expectation we had. The view is truly beyond words—something you have to experience to believe. From sunrise to sunset, it felt like living in a postcard. The house itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we could possibly need. The short walk to the beach was one of our favorite parts—just a few minutes through a gorgeous, peaceful trail that felt like a hidden gem. Our kids loved it, and we soaked in every moment as a family. Rhys and Kas were an exceptional hosts—kind, attentive, and incredibly responsive throughout our stay. This home offered us the perfect mix of comfort, beauty, and tranquility. We can’t recommend it enough and would come back in a heartbeat!

Wow, we have truly enjoyed staying at Clive’s beautiful home, located on a gorgeous beach. The location was phenomenal, steps away from the beach with amazing views of the water and sunsets. The home is equipped with all the necessities, very spacious yet cozy, the floor to ceiling windows provide the best views from the living room and kitchen. We are already looking forward to coming back, we had such a wonderful experience.

Great stay at this beachfront property! The location is unbeatable—just steps from the water, making it easy to enjoy the ocean. The home was clean, well-kept, and had mostly everything needed for a comfortable stay. The beds were especially great—super comfortable for a restful night’s sleep. The most serene beautiful location. Felt like a million miles from anywhere but best brekkie and coffee just steps from the door and a general store a couple of minutes away with everything you could need. Bed to die for, luxury linens and towels. Possibly the cleanest place EVER. thank you gavin, a perfect stay in a beautiful location.

A magical spot in Northland, the perfect place to get away and spend some quality time with loved ones. Thank you John, we all loved our time at your special piece of paradise.

Olive Grove Cottage is one of the best airbnbs that we have stayed (trying hard to recall one that was better). The bathroom had loads of bench space for all our things, the bed was so comfortable, and the kitchen had everything that we needed (including a sharp knife - almost a first!). The two cabins (one for bed and ensuite, and the other the kitchen) were connected by a fabulous expansive patio, partly covered with a sail cloth (just right for a bit of shade from the sun). This patio was a great place to relax, have dinner, and enjoy the view - spectacular. Such a lovely private enclave. To top it off, the herb and vegetable garden were available for what we wanted. Lisa is a fabulous host, who made us feel welcome from our very first contact, with a very quick response time. I couldn't recommend Lisa's place more highly.

Shirley’s place is a family batch, with stunning ocean views. The showers and beds are extremely comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. The jetty was perfect to tie the dinghy up to safely overnight. The two levels are extremely sound proof (our tired sailor downstairs and tired co sailor are snoring masters, and neither heard each other). Have the two level separation was perfect for privacy from each other. There is a liquor store, bar and restaurant and 4 square (convenience store) a few minutes drive from the property. There is no laundry and in the township itself, no laundromat. Closest would be in Kaitaia. The property suited our requirements perfectly and allowed the two blokes to rest, eat and plan for the journey ahead, limping a yacht home without a propellor and broken rigging. Thank you Shirley for your excellent communication during our stay, it was extremely appreciated.

Great spot, quiet clean and spacious.

Absolutely stunning Airbnb, one of if not the best we’ve ever stayed in (we’re doing a round the world trip so have stayed in a lot by now)! It was absolutely pristine, we felt like we were checking into a 5* hotel with the quality of the beds, linens, towels etc. It is genuinely nicer than the photos and more spacious, and it was so appreciated that Anita had some provisions and snacks like milk, chocolates, crisps and fruit there for us when we arrived. Anita is lovely and so friendly! She kindly greeted us at check in, showed us around and how everything works, and gave us some fantastic local recommendations which we did and thoroughly enjoyed, in particular the coastal trail to Paihia and getting the car ferry across the bay to go to Russell. The views over the bay, watching the boats come and go, are stunning. We didn’t use the BBQ that’s on the balcony but would have if we’d stayed longer, which I wish we had! Overall we couldn’t fault this place, and HIGHLY recommend staying
