Our stay at Merriman House was nothing short of a perfect year-end gateway. We were in the middle of nowhere yet somewhere, surrounded by beautiful farms, grasslands and dams. The calm and serene ambience here were unmatched—perfect for anyone looking to escape the chaos of city life. The breathtaking views all around were a highlight. We loved exploring the area, which had so much to offer in terms of natural beauty and tranquility. There were great fishing options nearby, making it even more enjoyable for outdoor enthusiasts. A 4x4 and outdoor gears like binoculars, drone, walkie-talkies, mud boots can make exploration much more fun. Don't forget to pack some insects/mosquito repellents. The location is far from town, it is also advisable to pack basic medicines especially those with the kids. Kelly and David were super hosts, were quick to respond and went beyond to help us everytime. Their plausible gestures made our stay even better. We would highly recommend this place.

What a beautiful serene place with garden- peaceful…. Lovely stoep and kitchen… Zozo went an extra mile to put fresh flower arrangements in house… close proximity in town, opposite Rhodes hotel… will visit any time again… thanks Ann

We had the most wonderful stay with Phyll. Her cottage is homely, neat and tidy, with super comfy beds and linen and set in the most beautiful and peaceful surrounds. Unfortunately we only had one night here, due to our travel schedule, but would absolutely have loved to stay longer ! We can highly recommend this farm stay...we'll be back for sure!

Rhodes is a very beautiful picturesque small town to stay in. I would recommend staying at least a couple of days due to the long dirt road to and from Rhodes. The dirt road is well maintained but it is probably more comfortable to travel on with a 4x4. This is an ideal place to stay if you just want to be in nature between the mountains. It really is beautiful and peaceful there. Our host helped us out with accommodation at Nelson's Croft which was cozy and great for a big group. Elizma also offered to have a cooked meal ready for us when we arrived which was ideal after a long days travel.

We had an amazing mother-daughter weekend at this beautiful Airbnb! From the moment we drove onto the farm, the scenic view was breathtaking—the house nestled at the foot of the mountain is an unforgettable sight. The home itself is incredibly spacious, spotless, and smelled wonderful. It’s equipped with everything you could possibly need—and more! We loved spending time around the boma fire, enjoying the peaceful surroundings and great company. There’s plenty of space to relax and gather with family and friends, and the house is thoughtfully equipped for little ones, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The friendly and attentive staff who maintain the property made our stay even better, and Marisa, the host, went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. This place is bound to become a favorite on Airbnb soon! Wishing Marisa all the success and many happy guests in the future. We’d love to return!

We had such a great time at Millerd Mountain Lodge! Beautiful environment, we could explore, flyfish and bird! The house is equipped with everything you need. Lovely fireplace inside and helpful staff. Our dogs loved it as much as we did! Looking forward to be back!

Amanda personally welcomed us and guided us through amenities of the Tuinhuisie, which we found most suitable. It is the perfect quick-stop overnight stay that we were looking for and the secure parking gave peace of mind.

Great host. Very friendly and helpful. Housing was just as the description and pictures had mentioned. Very clean, cozy, perfect for a single traveler or family of four (plenty of space to sleep and move around in). Would highly recommend if visiting Barkly East or surrounds!

Wonderful stay! We were welcomed in a professional, yet very warm way. The chalet was clean, comfortable and well equipped with a braai on the deck overlooking the dam. We will definitely be back!
