This unique House was built in 1977. Inspired by Arcosanti and the vision of Paolo Soleri. It is carved into the earth and built of natural materials and objects found in the area. There is a walkway that leads to the home, a kiva, and patio for outdoor living. Guests must use good judgement and situational awareness at all times due to the uneven surfaces and the rock ledges. Inside the House are many small doorways with low overhangs that you must step over to access the rooms.
“This place was all we expected, if not more! From the moment we pulled up, the energy was clean and welcoming. It was our first time to Jerome, and our expectations are set high as far as places to slumber go. So many unique, beautiful details added to this cute hobbit hole. Don’t let the bathroom situation mislead you; it’s literally right outside the main door just a few steps. I almost want to force myself to go in the middle of the night, for the exquisite view of the stars. They had a jacuzzi and a dipping pool that we spent all night in. Honestly everything you could want and need in such a minimalist setting. We will definitely be back! p.s. we had to call the host close to 10pm upon arriving due to our navigation failing! “If you are going to Jerome I would highly suggest staying at the Miner’s Cottage. It’s an old worldly house with vintage touches that creates the right ambience for two people. The loveliness of the city is echoed in the charm of the cottage. The view of the Verde Valley alone would be enough, but Wendy goes above and beyond with providing modern amenities within a house from the 1880’s.”
