“Our stay at River Downs was absolutely perfect. It was a great place to switch of and spend some quality time as a family. The kitchen is superbly equipped and the house was super comfortable. The setting is gorgeous and it has a really great swimming hole. Great place to take our dog, he loved it just as much as us. We would stay again in a heart beat.”

“We had family break at this awesome house. The hosts had catered for everything you could want or need. My daughter was so happy with the change table, pram and abundance of toys. Lots of walks down to the beautiful Jamieson River. Market at the caravan park. Dinner at the Courthouse Pub and a long lazy lunch at the Jamieson Brewery along with purchases of their awesome beer to take home. The magnificent trees and the abundance of bird life not to mentioned the singing cicadas make this place special. So looking forward to another family trip to this wonderful house and location.”

“Kate was an amazing host. We arrived late on a Friday night and her instructions made it super easy to find on a foggy dark night. The hut was warm and cozy on arrival. We had such a lovely relaxing stay. The sound of the river is delightful. The pavilion space is great and we would have enjoyed it more but the cold got the better of us. The hut is nice and cozy and the coonara keeps it beautifully warm. Lots of nice thoughtful touches. It was lovely waking up to see the fog and frost. The gas burner was much appreciated for morning coffee, we brought our own but there was a little supplied. Kate provided plenty of drinking water. A little tip if you stay in winter, fill up your water bottles before bed. If any water if left outside and the temp drops to below zero, it will freeze. In our case, the taps in the bathroom also froze. We enjoyed exploring Jamieson and the surrounding area. If you like Pinot Noir, make an appointment to see John at Mt Terrible Wines. We also enjoyed a few beers at the Brewery. We’d love to come back in spring or summer just to see the contrast from winter. Highly recommended!”
