Family-friendly holiday rentals in Jackson County

From the mountains, the quiet surroundings, the privacy, this place was beautiful and well worth the money. We didn’t eat out once we used the kitchen and having the double oven helped so much. The air conditioning was ice cold in the best way! It was warm outside and after a day of traveling, walking into the nice cold place was awesome! We do a yearly vacation and every time the hot tub was broke so we didn’t have high expectations for this one but it worked great just took some time to get real warm. If you ever decide to come to the Sylva area this place is a great pick! Also, the owners checking in on us a lot to make sure we were enjoying our stay and they were there if we had any questions or concerns. Definitely look into this place! Just make sure you have 4 wheel drive to get up the driveway.

We had a great time at Greg's place, as always. The home was very clean, and the location is perfect. The hot tub, creek, and fire pit are always highlights of our trip. Kitchen is well stocked, and there's plenty of towels. Highly recommend staying here!

The cabin was great—clean, spacious, and well-stocked. We loved having a second fridge in the basement for extra storage and easy access to drinks. The kitchen had every gadget we needed, plus condiments. Rooms were comfortable, bathrooms spotless, and the whole place felt like home with thoughtful décor and attention to detail. The deck and small playground were perfect for the kids. The only downside was the 10 a.m. checkout. For a large group, it felt rushed to pack, clean, empty the fridge, return items, and drive 4 miles to take out the trash—especially considering we were already charged a $210 cleaning fee. We did most of it, but were still charged extra $50 for not putting away folded chairs and the table extension. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and we truly enjoyed the cabin despite that. .

I booked Madeline’s place for my parents. They really enjoyed the privacy and their beautiful surroundings! Madeline was very responsive and they even got to meet her while they were there and they enjoyed talking with her.

Michael was a great host. Very responsive in the replies. Home was great and worked well for our weekend. Highly recommended and will be staying again

We had a wonderful visit! The house is beautiful! We spent a lot of time on the porch,enjoying the view and hot tub! Lots of great restaurants and cute small towns near by. Jeff was a wonderful host! I definitely suggest staying here.

The condo was exactly as described. It was very comfortable for our family of four. Well stocked kitchen, homey decorations. We especially loved the screen porches. Richard sent clear instructions for check in and check out. Overall, a very nice stay!

Stayed here as a group of six and 1 dog. Very cozy and lots of space for everyone. Beautiful mountain views!

The cabin was great and the view was fantastic! We had a great Christmas vacation. Definitely needed a four wheel drive especially with all the rain.

We had a fantastic stay at the cabin last week. We especially loved the back porch- picnic table for outdoor meals and the big swing was awesome! We walked from the cabin to the start of the Cliffside Lake Trail- what a great location!

Place was extremely clean,close to main st highlands but far enough away to be quiet, Becky responded within a few minutes, had a fantastic time in highlands and surrounding area,we travel to highlands often, first time using a airbnb loved it!!Becky's a great host to work with.

We rented this cabin for Mini Nats. The cabin itself was exactly like described in the listing. And was amazing!! We only had two issues. First the parking sucks for what we needed it for! You have to park on a very steap hill and there is only enough room for 2 maybe 3 cars in the driveway. With the mini truck this became a issue real fast as ours has a carb and we could not park on the hill (and even if it didnt have a carb i wouldnt of parked it there). Thankfully the neighbors was amazing to us but i have heard others wasnt as lucky as us. The road leading back is very narrow and there is a few hills. We only had one issue with the road and that was coming down the hill to go back out and the truck was fully aired up and still bottomed out in one place. You do have to walk all the way up the hill and around to the back door to gain entry to the cabin every time you enter. The next issue we had was the fence needs alittle TLC. But I would absolutely recommend this cabin.

My friends and I enjoyed our weekend getaway at The Runaway Chalet. The driveway was a little tricky due to recent snowfall, but April suggested an alternative approach to enter driveway. We plan to return next year!

The Lake house was one of the quietest and most peaceful air b-and-b's we have stayed at. The new back deck is the highlight of the lake cabin. The rest of the cabin is fully equipped and functional, but we hardly left the back deck. With its fenced in area and gate was perfect for the dog. The kayaks and dock are a nice addition. It is located close to good dining at Micas restaurant and Whiteside brewery. We came for the hiking in Panthertown area. We will be back again.

We stayed at Lonnie’s place to celebrate our daughter’s 21st birthday. We are a family of 6, with teenagers of different ages. Lonnie’s place was clean, homey and felt like home. Great restaurants in the area - about 15 min drive in any direction. Place was a bit harder to find at night, but provided directions were perfect and we did not have any trouble at all. Grocery store is a short drive, made our life easier. The location is beautiful - the view of the lake is magical and surrounding area feels very safe. We used the house as a base for hiking trips -big variety of options 10 months or 40 min away. In 4 days we feel we just scratched the surface. Also close to kayaking, tubing and other water sports. Tv downstairs was easy to operate and wifi signal was great - I was able to log into zoom calls for work. Inside the house, the supplies in the kitchen are great: plenty of plates, glasses, cups and cutlery. Also many spices and condiments. Thank you - it was a great time!

This was a great house to stay at. Very comfortable and home like. Loved the view and the large deck. Had everything we needed including toys for kids. Good area, near lots of stuff to do including using the resort amenities, restaurants, waterfalls and shopping. Would stay again.

ms.sandy and her husband are the sweetest people ever, we missed check in by 4 hours so she was worried and made sure we were okay, upon arrival and her explaining everything to us she took the time to made sure we ate something and made us a smoothie just in case we didn’t. she has the most beautiful home and it’s exactly like the pictures. when you look over the balcony at night you see the most beautiful firefly’s, and wake up to the most brightest sunrises, you can even see the mountains in the back!! the room was so clean and spacious so we will definitely be back again and hopefully for longer!

This is the fourth time I have stayed at Carolyn and Van’s. They go above and beyond to welcome and support. Everything I needed. Great view. Grateful.

Sundrop Community is secluded and peaceful. Met the neighbors, everybody was super nice. Townhouse was perfect for what I needed. I was there to fly fish Caney Fork and the access to 2000’ of riverfront property was great. Two wood burning fireplaces were awesome (bring your own wood). Sundog were amazing and very helpful. The only negative I would say (it is not really negative), the listing indicates it is good for up to 6 people-I would disagree. Although there were 2 mobile air mattresses this place IMO is suitable for 4 people. Would definitely stay again.

The home is a dream - decorated beautifully, comfortable beds, lovely linens and towels, a screened in porch with a swing plus outdoor eating area. The kitchen was fabulous - excellent appliances and fully stocked with everything you need. Much appreciated that basics like spices and oil were available because no one wants to buy all that for a short stay. The home is situated in a peaceful woody area yet close to amenities. Availed ourselves of the nearby pool. Donna was easy to reach and responded quickly from beginning to end. Already planning a return trip!

If you are looking for a cozy place for just you and your spouse, stop looking. This is the place. Everyone that we met was very friendly. It was very quiet. We DID have elk show up several times during our stay. That was too cool! The king size bed was great. Bed didn’t squeak every time you would roll over. Slept good. The fireplace was our favorite. We could watch tv and have a roaring fire going. Bathroom was very nice, easy to move around, and clean. Kitchen was clean. Three restaurants we recommend. Joey’s Pancakes, Country Vittals, and there is a Mexican restaurant next to Cabbage Rose. All three gave great service and delicious food. We love Maggie Valley and will stay at this cabin again!
