Utterly peaceful and private, Villa Melati is reached via its own rack-and-pinion funicular lift or by some steps, yet is just 10 minutes drive from central Ubud. Surrounded by nature, it is landscaped into the side of the Ayung River valley, overlooking rice fields. The fan-shaped infinity pool makes the house appear to float above the treetops. Using local materials, the villa was designed to harmonise with the environment, offering a blend of open-air living and air-conditioned comfort.

Pondok Apsari is an intimate home that grew around an antique rice barn on pillars, created by a Dutch artist. The inside and outside of the house are seamlessly connected. It's located in the hills south of Singaraja, between rice fields, with views of the Bali sea and volcano tops. A beautiful gorge with waterfalls and a trekking area are within walking distance.
