This is a private rental inn in Mimizu-cho, Hyuga City, Miyazaki Prefecture. This is the old private house where the mother of the poet, Wakayama Mokuju, lived. It is a 3-minute walk to the beach (fishing is allowed), a 5-minute drive to the nearby beach and surf spot, and a 10-minute drive to the Mimizu Country Club (the second oldest prestigious golf course in Miyazaki Prefecture). It is an ideal area for a leisurely trip with your family or as a place to stay for a hobby trip. Just walking around the city from the inn is enough to enjoy! The town of Mimizu, known as the place where Emperor Jinmu set sail, has many traditional events, cultures and customs befitting a place where boats are launched, such as the Funabide Dango and the Okiyo Festival. It has been designated as an important traditional building preservation district, You can appreciate the Edo-era townhouse with a port facing the estuary, which is rare nationwide. The house was built in 2005 but the first floor was partially renovated in October 2024. There is an outside deck that has panoramic ocean views. Bedding is one queen, one double and two single beds. There is also a futon mattress if needed (not super comfy). The house is in a residential area so refrain from making loud noise especially after dark. Being surrounded by nature near the ocean, you may occasionally encounter seasonal insects outdoors, particularly around lights at night.
