The space
Saralya Home is a peaceful and beautiful residence with 9 private studios and 2 apartments. It is a dynamic home allowing you to enjoy either a private, more personal retreat or a more social one. You set the tone.

For your retreat, you will enjoy your own private room, as well as our massive swimming pool surrounded by sunbeds and our lush tropical garden, along with our communal area. This shared space includes:

- a shared fully equipped kitchen (including all you can think of, such as gas stoves, electric oven, utensils, fridge, blender, coffee machine, juice extractor, rice cooker, pots and pans, grill, and much more). All the guests can use it anytime;
- a dinning room;
- a sports, meditation and yoga area;
- a big comfy sofa;
- a cinema screen and sound, Netflix, karaoke, high speed Internet, and more;
- a telescope and sky watching sessions;
- a selection of good books;
- a luxurious bathroom with bathtub;
- a terrace with panoramic view and amazing sunsets;
... and all you can wish for you to have the most pleasant stay.

Make Saralya your home, spread over three floors. Enjoy the massive saltwater pool surrounded by a lush garden, complete with sunbeds, umbrellas, a bathroom, and a free community washer on the ground floor. The second floor features a balcony facing the street, while the 3rd floor boasts a vast communal area with a master kitchen, entertainment space, yoga area, and 360-degree views of the surrounding areas. There is plenty of room to make your stay exactly what makes you happy! You can have a more private experience or engage with other guests - totally up to you!

We are next door to a beautiful monastery on one side and an Aviary on the other. Your mornings can be filled with the melody of birdsongs or monks chanting. These beautiful sounds add to the serenity of Saralya Home.

Across the street, you will find a coffee stand, a currency exchange, paid laundry service, and a small storefront.

Guest access
During your stay at Saralya Home, you have access to all the communal areas 24/7, including our salt water swimming pool with sunbathing chair and the main 360 degree top floor with a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room, cinema screen, yoga and meditation area, shared computer, Netflix, bathtub, stereo, exercise equipment, telescope and much more! This is all that is communal at Saralya Home.

You are most welcome to join the community, but you can also choose a more private retreat in your own room. This is your choice!

Since Saralya Home is a shared home, you are always welcome to propose your own initiatives, such as cooking together and sharing food, playing games, watching movies or documentaries, or anything else you have in mind.

Other things to note
We are often asked about the meaning of Saralya. Here is a brief explanation of our philosophy. Saralya is a Sanskrit word. It means honesty, innocence (the main reason for having chosen that name), straightness and easiness. Saralya Home is based on these principles and also follows the 5 Buddhist precepts, which are the commitments to abstain from killing living beings (for example we try to keep mosquitoes outside so we don't need to kill them), stealing (obviously!), sexual misconduct, lying (we treasure honesty and do not tolerate gossiping and lying). We follow all these principles to make Saralya Home a happy and peaceful place to stay, where respect for each other is a core principle. We deeply believe in your good intentions to maintain a harmonious, highly respectable, and honorable atmosphere in Saralya Home.

This said, Saralya home is anything but a place of restrictions, and apart from these precepts, we invite you to feel free to enjoy your stay the way you want it! Come with your own initiatives, make Saralya Home your own home, and bring your inputs and recommendations.

Saralya Home is also a place to gather where we love playing: water volleyball, badminton, stylish jumps, swimming races, Mölkky, board games, movie nights, karaoke, playing music... We have it all :-) Make it happen!

Where you’ll be

Siem Reap, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia

Nestled away from the hustle bustle of the city. This accommodation is situated right at the crosspoint of the masterpiece Angkor Wat (6km away), Siem Reap town (4km away) and Siem Reap airport (4km away). The place is located in a quiet neighborhood, next to the beautiful Brasat Entrear (pagoda), visible from the communal main room. The main tower of Angkor Wat and Bakeng Mountain are also visible from this room. The 3rd floor platform offers a 360° view of Siem Reap. This prime location affords you all the luxuries you will need while allowing you to experience authentic Cambodian living every time you leave the house.

There is something else special about our neighborhood though: we are surrounded by two houses full of… birds!! Indeed, our direct neighbors are the owners of a swiftlet nest farm, and we are consequently surrounded by structures that provide an environment that facilitates nest-building by the birds. You have probably heard of the famous birds’ nest soup and you can guess what the main ingredient of this ancient delicacy is, but these nests aren’t made from twigs and leaves. Swiftlets, a bird indigenous to Southeast Asia and the South Pacific Islands, build nests from their spit . The result is a crunchy texture that’s somewhere between a beehive and a cobweb, yum! We can’t visit the farm unfortunately.
This said, none of our guests have ever complained about a smell or noise disturbance, on the contrary, hearing birds singing is quite a plus to our haven of peace, and seeing birds flying around the property gives our place a little special feeling and inspiration. All our guests love it :-)
