Háafell Lodge

Welcome to Háafell Farm where we raise sheep, keep horses and have one friendly dog. Our private guest house is located 200 meters above the farm, up the mountain at 130 meters above sea level. It is a recently built (2020), 100 square meter, modern “turf house style” house. Háafell means “The High Mountain” and has a long river that cascades down its side with several tiers of waterfalls. It is a five minute walk to our canyon and it is possible to take a cold bath in one of the waterfalls.

We offer you to come and stay with us on our horse farm in our lovely cottage with a breathtaking view of the mountains and towards the ocean. Very good location to stay while exploring the Snæfellsnes peninsula. We are only a few minutes driving time away from many nice and beautiful places to visit such as Arnarstapi, Hellnar, and the National park Snæfellsjökull, Rauðfeldsgjá ravine, Búðir, and Bjarnarfoss waterfall. HG-00006565. A big garden is with the house and a small sun deck. During the summertime a gas grill will be placed on the summer deck which you can use. it‘s just about 5 minutes walk to a swimming pool and just about 2 minutes walk to the grocery store and liquor store. In the same neighborhood is e.g. the Icelandic Seal Center and the wonderful restaurant Sjávarborg.

Beautiful house just 50 m from the sea

There are six sleeping places in the house. Two bedrooms, one with double bed and the other with two single beds. Sleeping couch, double, is in the living room. Kitchen is with all normal utilities. With a dishwasher and extra large fridge Living room and dining room are in the same space. Door from the living room is out to the terrace.
