We are in the tranquil Western Lake District National Park close to the Coast to Coast bike route and with plenty of walking right from the door. Your comfortable ensuite bedroom and own breakfast / sitting room is upstairs so has gorgeous views across to woods and fells. The bedroom can be set up as two singles or one kingsize bed. We can provide a delicious basket of local and home-made food for a help-yourself- breakfast for £5 per person. There is parking and a garage for storing bikes.
“Debbie and Graham's place is perfect in each sense. The location is splendid with views the the mountains right from the bedroom window. The place has all the amenities you could ask for for your stay and that makes it all the more special. It is one of those places where you could visit and disconnect from the world (if you so wish to). Debbie and Graham are lovely hosts. They are so easy to talk to. They made the check in and check out process a breeze. Also, one of the best parts were Debbie's flapjacks. Delicious in each bite. We would definitely stay there again.”
A hidden gem in the lake district national park, on site pub, static caravan site, pod, walking, fishing, climbing, all out door pursuits.
“This place is just perfect for a walking holiday in the Lake District. A short drive from all the top destinations such as Catbells and Castlerigg Stone Circle, with convenient parking on site. The pub is friendly and welcoming, with its own beer and a great food menu including veggie/vegan options. You also get use of a private back entrance. The flat is very spacious and beautiful traditional English, nice and warm and well insulated from the pub downstairs (you can hear mumbled conversations until 10pm, then it's silent). There's a full kitchen, very well equipped. The bathroom is slightly separate but private and I really appreciated a piping hot bath after a day of hill climbing. Overall, a great deal! The perfect place to really stretch out and enjoy yourself even for longer periods. DEFINITELY recommend it for families and groups.”
The cottage is over 150 years old with walls 2 foot thick but has a very modern walk-in shower room and up to date kitchen. It is spacious, warm and homely - a veritable home away from home. All the basics that you may need are provided, including kitchen equipment, bedding, towels, soap, heating, lighting and power. There is a patio garden area to the rear of the cottage and off-street parking is available to the front.
“Sue’s place is definitely the definition of home away from home! It was comfortable, spacious, great for relaxation and also conveniently located for day trips all over the Lake District. I notice how many of her guests have returned many times. I can certainly understand why.”
