If your bank requires authentication, they’ll send over an authentication request that Airbnb will display for you to complete. If you fail or exit out of the authentication request, you may be shown any of the following errors:

When the billing address, CVV, card number or other info you entered doesn’t match what’s associated with your payment method, it could prevent your payment from going through. In those cases, you may receive one of the following errors:
It's important to double-check the info you’ve entered, making sure to add the details exactly as they appear on your card or bank statement. If you’re still having trouble, reach out to your bank or financial institution, or try using a different payment method.
If you receive any of the following errors, it’s possible that our systems detected unusual activity on your account:
You’ll need to wait up to 24 hours to log in to your account and try making the payment again.
If you’re shown any of the following errors, you may need to use a different payment method:
First contact your bank or financial institution. If you’re still having trouble, try booking your reservation using a different payment method.
There might be restrictions on the currency at the time of payment due to factors like the country in which you reside or the payment method you're using. In these instances, you’ll receive the following error: Can’t complete this payment in your currency.
You can try paying in the suggested currency, or use a different payment method.
It's possible that your payment method has a maximum transaction amount or daily limit set by your bank or financial institution. If the payment amount exceeds this limit, your payment won’t go through. In these cases, you’ll receive any of the following errors:
It's best to contact your bank or financial institution to find out if they can provide a solution or increase your daily limit. You can also try using a different payment method.
When using Alipay as your payment method in the Airbnb app, you may receive the following error: Order does not exist—Alipay.
If this happens, try completing the booking on desktop or mobile browser.
It’s possible to receive an error that isn’t listed in this article. It’s best to first contact your bank or financial institution to find out why your payment isn’t working.
