Upstairs from the family room is a loft with twin beds and small office. Electric heating and air-conditioning make it very cozy. A queen-sized bedroom on the first-floor, the kitchen, the bathroom with shower, and a personal laundry room make it nice for a multi-night stay. The living area is directly above horse stalls in the basement.

Secluded along the banks of the Slippery Rock Creek is the 4th generation family cottage, fully renovated in 2017, originally built in 1940. Descend the 45 steps to the cottage and find “there’s no place like (a 2nd) home”. From the wraparound deck you may see geese, deer, bald eagles, osprey, beaver, great blue heron and ducks. It's the size of a large room and works very well with guests that are planning to work, or go out enjoying the city and come back to a safe, clean and comfy place to recharge for the night (not suitable for kids under 10)

As one of our guests noted: “This home is named perfectly. It was a great escape." We invite you to stay in our small but cozy house in the very quiet "Pittsburgh Circle" area of town. The property backs onto a greenbelt - down a sharp embankment you can see the Connoquenessing Creek - which you can enjoy from the covered patio or the breakfast table in front of the large window. We have seen deer, groundhogs, hawks, and even a bald eagle!
