Welcome to Kanminka Kanade🌱 Even though it's a travel destination, it welcomes you with a sense of security, as if you were returning home to a relative's house. We moved from Hokkaido to Noto four years ago. This is a private accommodation where the owner lives, where you can experience local life, meet people, and enjoy the slow passage of time. Gather around the irori, gaze out over the rice fields, or have fun playing board games. You can not only explore Noto, but also enjoy an experience of "travelling as if you were living there". This 150-year-old traditional house, built in the first year of the Meiji era, was renovated in 2022.The entire bathroom area has been replaced, and the kitchen and living room are equipped with underfloor heating, so you can enjoy a comfortable stay.The irori (traditional Japanese hearth) that was buried under the floor has been restored, preserving the good old days. The rooms are developed in 2 Japanese-style rooms with 8 tatami mats on the first floor and one Western-style room with 8 tatami mats on the second floor.Basically, it is not a shared room.Two Japanese-style rooms are next to each other, so you can use them as a group.Japanese-style rooms are a priority for large groups. Western-style rooms are separated, so you don't have to worry about the noise.The stairs are steep, so guests with weak feet will be guided to the Japanese-style room on the first floor. Please feel free to discuss the number of people.

For those who don't like coffee, we have matcha and "Rakugan", a traditional Kanazawa sweet that melts in your mouth.There is also Kaga matcha green tea (in a plastic bottle), a specialty of Ishikawa Prefecture, in the fridge. Please feel free to use honey tea, Kobe tea (3 varieties), a water purifier and ice. Amenities include a gold leaf face pack (Kanazawa experience) and shampoo and treatment produced by Towako Kimishima. There are no toothbrushes, so Please be prepared. The fishing spot is close to the accommodation, so you can enjoy the four seasons You can enjoy it throughout. We are renovating an ordinary house in Noto. There is a rocky sea just a 1-minute walk away. Walk about 10 minutes down the promenade and you'll find Japan's oldest existing wooden lighthouse. The natural scenery you can see when you walk there is beautiful. It's a house outside the town, so you don't have to worry about the noise. Listen to your favorite music or immerse yourself in a good book. You can hear the sound of waves, birds chirping, and insects buzzing. Sometimes you can hear the sound of cars passing by. There are stray cats here and there. Sometimes you can see raccoons, chipmunks, foxes, and rabbits. Convenience stores and supermarkets are a 10-minute drive away. There are no shops nearby. Internet is available via Wi-Fi. There is one unit bath (shared). There is one washing machine in the dressing room (shared). There is one fridge in the lobby (shared). There is one TV in each room (terrestrial broadcasting). We have newly installed a kitchenette (shared). We have a conversation room (shared). Linens are now antibacterial. There are two sections: the second floor of the main building (2 beds x 4 rooms) and the annex (2 beds x 3 rooms). Rooms are allocated according to the situation. We are renting out an entire old house that is over 100 years old, located in the rural area of Noto, Shikamachi. This is not a tourist destination.Surrounded by fields and mountains, you wake up in the morning to the sound of birds, and at night it is surprisingly quiet.The kitchen is lined with tools for a lifestyle that includes fermentation, such as miso and pickles, which has been passed down in this region.The greatest feast in this house is the "everyday life" where nothing special happens. We used furniture inherited from local homes and flooring from a demolished temple.It is a space where the time of this land remains, with the scratches and tree rings intact. This accommodation is standardly room-only. We also offer experiences such as campfires, plant dyeing, and making local home-cooked meals upon request (reservation required).The guides are local people who have lived here for a long time. Noto cottage "Hinoki no ie" is a wooden house with Onsen (Hot spring). Surrounded by the nature of the Noto area, it's located right in-between of Kanazawa and Oku-Noto (about 1 hour by car which is recommended) making it convenient for sightseeing. You can relax in the living room, the tatami room or the cozy open space. The bath, made of hinoki (Japanese cypress) When you step into the bathroom your whole body is enveloped in the scent of the wood. The house is also very close to the ocean.
