Wake up, make a coffee, and watch the ships track north across the horizon. That's most mornings here. An artist's apartment on the quiet end of Kings Beach, with original work on the walls, plants in every room, and the ocean visible from nearly everywhere you sit. Best for two.
Five minutes down the hill to the beach, the free saltwater pool and the surf club. Renovated in 2024 with a kitchen you'd actually cook in.
The space
Original art pieces on the walls, a hand-painted surfboard in the corner, plants in every room, and a handmade Tasmanian leather sofa that guests keep mentioning by name.
Burgess Street is the quiet end of Kings Beach, the residential street where the good houses face the water. You're one block back from the beach and about as far from the noise as you can be while still walking everywhere.
The view
Ocean from the kitchen bench, the dining table, and the main bedroom verandah. It's a working view. You'll watch cruise ships tracking north through the shipping lane, and the light changes on it all day. Two round mirrors in the living room bounce it back into the room.
The kitchen
Properly equipped, not token. Full oven, dishwasher, Nespresso machine with pods and milk waiting for you, air fryer, rice cooker, Nutribullet, and enough bench space that two people can cook without getting in each other's way. Tea, coffee, oil, vinegar and spices are already there.
Sleeping and space
Main bedroom has a queen and its own small verandah with the ocean view. Second bedroom has two singles. One bathroom, renovated, with laundry built in: washing machine and dryer.
The apartment officially sleeps four and the beds are comfortable for four. The living space is genuinely built for two. If you're a couple, this is the right amount of room. If you're four adults planning to spend your evenings inside together, it will feel close. Two adults and two older kids works well. Very young children aren't a great fit. There's original art at low heights and delicate pieces throughout.
Outside
Two verandahs. The main one off the lounge: two chairs, a table, the ocean, and the flowering oleander below. It's a coffee-in-the-morning, wine-in-the-evening space rather than an entertaining deck. The second is off the main bedroom.
Parking. Read this bit.
There's one allocated undercover space. It's tight. It suits a small or medium car. If you're in an SUV or a ute, park on the street out front. It's free, unrestricted, and usually right there. Practically all guests have used the undercover space without issue. One found it too tight. Plan for the street and treat the undercover spot as a bonus on stormy nights.
Getting around on foot

Slightly further out: Moffat Beach, or Bulcock Beach are easy walks along coastal walkways. Australia Zoo and Mooloolaba are all easy drives.
A few practical things
Two air conditioning units, one in the main bedroom and one in the lounge, plus ceiling fans throughout and a genuine sea breeze. Fast wifi and a smart TV. Seven steps up to the front door, which makes it easier to get into than most places around here. Board games in the cupboard.
