“Brenda's place is as-advertised. Beautiful location overlooking the CO river through the Rockies. My favorite amenity is by far the backyard, where you can BBQ, watch the sunset and enjoy the best the Rocky Mountain views. Inside is very charming and cozy. Has all the amenities you can think of - coffee, microwave, cooking utensils, etc.. We went to the local market and picked up some food to make a home cooked meal after three days on the road. Would recommend this place without hesitation. Thanks Brenda.”
The Villa Costalotta (we are being facetious) is a standalone building separated from our cabin by a paved alleyway. We live out in the country, just 3 miles from Eagle, with no near neighbors so mostly what you hear is the creek behind the building and the nearest neighbor’s rooster crowing. Our property backs up to Brush Creek which can be fished for Brown and Rainbow Trout exclusively. We are both retired so are usually puttering around the property.
“JoAnn's place is fantastic! I have stayed here more than once and would go back again. The setting is beautiful, accommodations comfortable, and JoAnn and Bob are gracious hosts. I also appreciated the good internet connection and plugs to accommodate business as well.”
This is a simple cabin-home is located 7 miles up from the Colorado river on Sweetwater Creek. Three more miles up the road is Sweetwater Lake and the jump off area for the White River National Forest and the Flat Tops Wilderness area. Glenwood Springs is 32 miles down creek/river. Great access to hiking, floating, biking (Glenwood Canyon) and hunting, or best yet relaxing next to a beautiful creek. Brink's Outfitters at Sweetwater Lake has horses and guides for riding.
“We can’t say enough good about this place. It’s the perfect peaceful retreat from the world! The cabin is simple but has everything you need to make meals, build a fire, and stay cozy even when it’s freezing outside. We saw tons of wildlife (including one adorable little mouse in the cabin), loved hiking around Sweetwater Lake, and were amazed by the beauty of the canyon we were in. Tim is an outstanding host. We couldn’t recommend this place more highly!”
