Araluen was built in 1926 and was the residence of Frank Rusconi a renowned craftsman working in marble. His Marble Masterpiece is on display at the Tourist Centre. His most famous work is The Dog on the Tuckerbox. The house features pressed metal ceilings and retains the old world feel while providing modern comforts. Tea and coffee making facilities available at all times. Light breakfast is supplied in the guest lounge.
“The reviews before mine say it all. Marjorie was a fantastic host, she was extremely accommodating with early check in and late check out ( last minute notice ), the bedroom and adjoining lounge area was tastefully decorated , clean, comfortable and had everything you required. The house is situated on a quiet corner, a gorgeous verandah area to catch the sun's rays and walking distance to a historical bridge which was cool to see. Marjorie was extremely quick to respond and the bathroom was well equipped with all your needs. I wish we had more time to take it easy as that's the feel it had- an inviting warm easy going vibe. Thanks for having us again x”

“Carla’s studio is smart and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. The heaters worked marvellously too. Location was really good - centre of town. We walked down to the Murrumbidgee River and drove up to Mt Parnassus lookout for a splendid sunset. Ate well at The Criterion Hotel and enjoyed the coffee etc across the road for breakfast. Would stay again.”

“Wonderful! A perfect cosy place to stay with everything you need. We only stayed one night on our way through to VIC. Wendy was so kind to not only accept our late night booking but she also put the heater on for us so the room was warm on our arrival. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the shower was hot. Tea, coffee, juice and a light continental breakfast was provided. Wendy’s apartment was immaculately clean and directions made her place easy to find. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone.”
