Luxury Historic Creole Cottage, French Quarter; Pool & Spa

Featured in Architectural Digest, April 2022! Bask in true New Orleans history in a property that's over 200 years old, and retains much of its original character. All around you are authentic antiques, historic oil paintings and traditional materials, complemented by luxurious upholstery and bedding. One of very few properties with a gorgeous pool and spa, both salt water, and walking distance to the French Quarter, Frenchman Street, and the trolley lines. Located in one of the safest neighborhoods in New Orleans! Maison Rampart is a Creole Cottage that was originally built in the 1830s and changed very little over the last 200 years- we still retain much of the authentic character that has developed along with the city through the centuries. You will find nothing from Ikea or Home Depot here; the house is filled with authentic antiques, luxurious upholstery, premium mattresses & bedding, historic oil-paintings and lithographs, and period correct details throughout. The owners are luxury designers & historic preservationists and no expense was spared when creating this true New Orleans masterpiece. Step inside the front doors to the double parlor which retains is original fireplace and beadboard paneling from the 1860s. There is comfortable seating for 10, a large smart TV with local channels and onDemand favorites (like Netflix, HBO, Showtime, Hulu, and a variety of cable stations including ESPN, HGTV, etc). The sofa has a pull-out queen size sleeper and there are plenty of cozy places to curl up with a antebellum novel or other spots to sit and write a postcard to your loved ones. There is also a Sonos music system throughout the house, controlled by a free downloadable app on your smart phone or tablet over super-fast cable internet & wifi. The sumptuous dining room is one of the most eye-catching spaces in the house with its beaded walls, circa 1830s fireplace, New Orleans Spanish period iron chandelier, fabulous French trimmed draperies, and durable leather seating for a quick bite or a long-lasting dinner party. The charming luster lamps are as old as the house, and for more refined events we offer a complete set of French Limoges china. The last space on the left side of the cottage is perhaps the most charming room in the house, the Creole kitchen. You will find no built-in cabinetry, granite countertops, or tacky tile in this space- it is filled with antique furnishings the way an authentic Creole kitchen should be set up. We do however have a few modern conveniences, like a dishwasher, a reproduction refrigerator (with automatic ice maker), and a hood vent for cooking up a storm on the chic Italian gas range in colorful pastel blue and stainless steel. The kitchen is also equipped with all the copper pots and pans you need plus a microwave, electric tea kettle, standard coffee machine, toaster, dishes & cutlery for 20, plenty of wine glasses, and all the cooking gadgets and utensils you could ever want. Of course we provide the basics as well like oil, butter, salt & pepper, and Louisiana hot sauce! The right side of the house consists of the three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The first bedroom was originally the parlor for this side of the house and retains the most refined elements that the cottage had; plaster walls, tongue & groove ceilings, and deep moldings, in addition to a fabulous French crystal chandelier. This space also has the most light with double pairs of french doors and a side window, fitted again with luxurious trimmed drapery atop some fabulous historic reproduction wall-covering. This bedroom sleeps 4 with two queen beds and also has a large wardrobe, a dresser/vanity, and a spot to sit all atop a heavy wool Persian rug. Right outside this space is the first of the two bathrooms which features a claw-foot tub with a shower, a pedestal sink, an antique medicine cabinet, and new historic reproduction toilet. The bathrooms include body wash and shampoo/conditioner as well as plenty of towels, washcloths, and other essential like a first aid-kit. The middle bedroom contains the most period-correct American antiques in the house- these are pieces made for the New Orleans market shortly after the house was built in the 1830s. This suite also sleeps four in the two amazing mahogany four-poster tester beds, which are both expanded full size and include a variety of luxury bedding and both down & cotton pillows. This room also has a large wardrobe to unpack your things, a dresser, and a place to sit and tie your shoelaces. All of the bedrooms have a fan if you need a little white noise to sleep and extra blankets, Kleenex, and coat hangers. Right outside this suite is the second bathroom which has an inventive claw-foot shower and plenty of hooks & storage for all of your travel essentials. Both bathrooms also have a hair dryer in the medicine cabinet as well as plenty of extra toilet paper. Look inside the medicine cabinet of this bath to see the original barge-board construction of the house as well as some layers of the historic wall-covering from about 1830-1870, which has been sampled and documented by the Louisiana State Museum. The back bedroom is exquisitely decorated in Ralph Lauren wall-coverings, a thick wool rug, linen drapery with black-out lining, a large German wardrobe, and a large King size four-poster tester bed with custom bed drapery. This suite also has an adjoining laundry room for guests use who might have booked a longer stay with us. It has a ceiling fan, plenty of storage, a smart TV with a large variety of channels and on Demand TV/movies, and is of course cooled by our brand new 3 ton air conditioning system. Take a walk outside the rear kitchen door and find yourself on our large screen porch, which seats 8+ and is a heavenly respite away from the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter and nearby Frenchman Street. Right off this porch you will enjoy the comfortable chaise lounges for sunning and once your overheated, take a cool dip in our brand new salt-water pool! The left is a 4.5' deep lounge pool and the right is a relaxing spa that will easily fit your whole group! There is also a built-in underwater bench all around the back side of the pool if you just want to relax and take in the view of the cottage & palm trees while you sit with your cocktail. As you can see from the location map, we are situated right off of busy Frenchman Street which offers some of the best live music in New Orleans as well as a great weekend flea market and some charming coffee shops. We are also literally steps from the famous French Quarter and we are one of very few legal short term rentals in the area and the only option to stay in a truly luxury single family room this close to the Quarter. You can walk directly down Bourbon to expensive all night activity or take a stroll down one of our favorite streets during the day for great shopping, Royal Street. Jackson Square is about 10 minutes walking, and we send our personal restaurant and activity recommendations to every guest about a week prior to arrival so you will be able to enjoy some of the hidden gems around the Quarter, the Marigny, and the Bywater just like the locals! Notice; the house has a total of six (6) beds. Bedroom 1 has 2 queens, Bedroom 2 has 2 fulls, Bedroom 3 has 1 king, and the parlor has a pull-out queen sleeper sofa. There are two sets of bedding for all beds in the house. The rates shown on AirBNB are for up to 6 guests only. There is a hot tub (spa) that is always heated. The pool temp is perfect in the summer & fall, but we do offer pool heat during the winter/spring if requested. The cost is $50 per day and can be added to your reservation prior to check in. It is not possible to heat the pool for only part of your stay. We have a wonderful house manager that will meet you for check in and show you around and she can come by the house at any time to give you instructions or info! Immediately downriver of the French Quarter, the Faubourg Marigny developed as the city's second suburb in 1806, and was the first historic zoning since the Vieux Carre. It offers great music, fine food, and an authentic New Orleans atmosphere. You must enter your guest count correctly as our pricing depends on the number of guests in our home. The city of New Orleans also requires an accurate guest count and because we are a completely legal short term rental, we comply with all local rules and regulations. If you arrive with more guests than shown on your reservation, you will be assessed additional charges, you will lose your security deposit, and you may be evicted (at our discretion) without any refund whatsoever. Lastly, for your security please be aware of our local laws on Short Term Rentals in New Orleans! There are no legal short term rentals allowed within the limits of the French Quarter of less than 28 days, with the exception of upper floor apartments that are physically on Bourbon Street where the bars and restaurants are (ie, the rowdy, loud blocks). If you take the chance of renting in another French Quarter location, you risk the city shutting down the property prior to or during your stay- this is very likely as neighbors in the Quarter will report all short term rental activity. The only legal short term rentals in the city are on properties outside of the main French Quarter (ie east of Esplanade or North of Claiborne) and even those require a live-in host. Any property without a live-in host must be zoned commercial in order to provide legal short term rentals- we are zoned commercial. If you are looking for a safe, walk-able environment then we highly recommend staying south of St Claude, south of where the trolley car line runs. #1 Airbnb in Austin according to Architectural Digest! Bring the outdoors in! Sliding glass walls open to the serene yard of this redesigned '50s bungalow, just 3 miles from the center of downtown. Hide away and nestle in to your own fenced sanctuary and a bubbling chromatherapy bath…or share a relaxed, al fresco evening meal at the 12-foot outdoor dining table and share stories around the fire pit under Texas stars. (NO PETS. Infants & well-behaved CHILDREN OVER 8 ONLY.) Completely re-imagined by a designer/architect, this 1950's house was stripped to the studs to be recreated into a modern oasis of cool just ten minutes to the epicenter of downtown Austin. Appointed with every comfort, the home sports sliding glass walls to the backyard to allow the inside out and the outside in. An expansive living room gets even larger with the view to the backyard's minimalist "mound of grass" and the communal fire-pit beyond. A massive 12 foot long dining table adds casual chic to any grill-out dinner party you may want to throw under the Texas stars, or just a leisurely cool morning coffee. Just a step up from the living room and a theatre-style kitchen and serving bar allows even the most gourmet chef to have their crack at cooking anything from the local Whole Foods headquarters. Every amenity is available for the food fanatic, from induction cook-top to espresso machine. Two bedrooms on either side of a long entry hallway provide great privacy for a two-couple retreat. Windsor Park is a laid-back Keep Austin Weird neighborhood where, like Austin, kinda anything goes! Trendy spots nearby include the parks, running trails and pools at Mueller, Alamo Drafthouse Theater, Halcyon Coffee, B.D. Riley's Irish Pub, East Austin Yoga, The kNomad Global Bar, Kirby Lane (pancakes!) and the amazing Paco's Tacos, just to name a few. The eco-friendly, HEB grocery center (.25 miles from the house) has everything from Starbucks & Liquor, to pizza & gas just moments away. There are busses which are frequented by the students in the area, and the nearest light rail is at Highland Mall just 1 mile away. However, like most of Austin, the most convenient option is to have a car. This property is used by the owner for entertaining his own family and guests. It's in tip-top shape and decked out with his personal collection of art and books and a chef's dream kitchen. Relax in the garden, enjoy a night of s'mores around the fire-pit or just unwind on the couch while watching a movie. The guesthouse overlooks a spacious yard that is shared with the owners and their dogs. This guesthouse is bright and airy with vaulted 12 foot ceilings in the living room and kitchen. The kitchen features new stainless steel appliances, beautiful quartz counter-tops and all the basic necessities (including a blender, toaster, coffee maker, etc.). We always provide complimentary coffee to help get our guests day started off properly. The living room features comfortable and modern furniture, including a sofa bed and a 40" television with Xfinity X1 cable provided (with voice command). The bedroom has a queen-sized bed with crisp, lush bedding. You will also find a desk that's perfect for doing a little work (if you have to) on your laptop. The alarm clock has a Bluetooth setting if you want to listen to your own music while reading in bed. In the closet you'll find a full size washer and dryer, wooden hangers for your clothes and an iron and ironing board to keep your outfits looking neatly pressed. The bathroom features natural light which highlights the beautiful accent tile in the shower surround. There is a full-sized bathtub in case you want to take a soak. The apartment has a key pad for entry and guests will be provided with an access code prior to arrival. The guesthouse is located at the rear of a property in Houston Heights. Walk only a few blocks to reach the hike and bike trail. Shop on the famous 19th street nearby, and visit a wealth of local antique shops, art galleries, and restaurants. Our property is located right on a major bus line that makes for a 15 minute trip into downtown Houston where you can access theaters, restaurants and the city's light-rail line that can take you straight to Midtown (where you will find a variety of bars and restaurants) and the Museum District. Street parking is available for those with their own car and the city features ride-sharing services like Lyft and Uber. No smoking in the unit, no pets under any circumstances, no drugs or illegal activities.

Greet the day in an updated tiled bathroom that has everything from a twin vanity to combined rain shower and tub. Elsewhere, the gleaming white interior is offset with color splashes, from carpets to wall accents, plus flagstone and wood floors. This home offers 1000 square feet of space to spread out and relax. With cable, wifi, and a fully equipped kitchen including microwave, tea kettle, and coffee machine, you'll have all the comforts of home. Guests have full access to the backyard. Please respect quiet hours after 9 pm. The home, in classic New Orleans style, is split into two separate dwellings, with a shared backyard. I live on the other side of the duplex with my sweet miniature goldendoodle, Willie Nelson. I'm more then happy to interact or give you privacy. I've lived in New Orleans a long time and can offer any information you need about the city. Seventh Ward/Tremé is seen by many as the city's quintessential Creole neighborhood. Home to musicians, politicians, artists, and activists; it’s near City Park, the Degas House, the Free People of Color Museum, and a 20-30 minute walk or quick Lyft/Uber from the French Quarter. Coffee shops and local food nearby. The neighborhood is an authentic, richly diverse, NOLA neighborhood for experienced travelers, outside of the traditional tourists spots of Bourbon Street and Garden District. Parking is free on the street and there’s always ample parking. Walking a mile down Esplanade Ave to the French Quarter is lovely in the daytime. Ride shares and taxis are recommended everywhere in New Orleans at night, and the fare from Maison Laharpe to the Quarter is under $10, 5-7 minutes. Bus routes are nearby, as are Blue Bike rentals. More information on these and the streetcars can be found in the guest guide in the home. This is a traditional shotgun style house which is unique to New Orleans. It's the most common type of house that you'll find throughout the city. The location is close to the famous Treme neighborhood and is a convenient to walk to local restaurants and grocery stores on Esplanade Avenue, one of the most beautiful streets in the city. You can also take an inexpensive Uber or Lyft a mile north to City Park or a mile south to the French Quarter/Bywater or Downtown CBD/Warehouse District. Local city rental bikes are also available along Esplanade and are a great way to see the city. No smoking, parties, or pets. Seventh Ward/Tremé is seen by many as the city's quintessential Creole neighborhood. The diverse, historic neighborhood is home to famous musicians, politicians, artists, and activists; it’s near City Park, the Degas House, the Free People of Color Museum, and a 20-30 minute walk or quick Lyft/Uber from the French Quarter. Coffee shops and local food nearby. The neighborhood is an authentic NOLA neighborhood, outside of the traditional tourists spots of Bourbon Street and Garden District.

Please make yourself at home on the front and side porches but we ask that you give some privacy to the back yard immediately surrounding the back house. Thank you! I travel often but regularly stay in the back house on the property. I love getting to know guests and if our paths cross I look forward to talking with you. Central East Austin is a diverse and dynamic neighborhood that is just a few minutes from downtown and yet still quiet. In addition to offering of some of Austin's best restaurants and music venues, it also has important history to explore. In the last century, highway 35 was a tool of segregation, with east (of 35) Austin providing a rich community for African Americans. See how this history lives on through a plethora of old and new businesses is this burgeoning neighborhood! There is a parking spot that you are welcome to use directly in front of the house and there is also plenty of street parking with no permitting or street cleaning concerns. The closest B-Cycle station is a 15 minute walk away at Victory Grill on 11th St. Many of the 6th St restaurants and bars are a 10 minute walk as well. If you would prefer not to walk, there are a selection of ride share services such as RideAustin (our favorite), Lyft, or Uber. The street has two names, Hamilton Ave and Richard Overton Ave. Depending on your map source you may see either one pop up. Richard Overton is the oldest living American and American World War II veteran at 112 years of age. He lives down the block where be bought a house after the war ended.

We DO NOT host to children under 12 years old. Classic New Orleans apartment with character and charm located off the street in a lovely 1890's double shotgun. Stylishly furnished with many original architectural details - 13 foot ceilings, original hardwood floors and mantles, clawfoot tub with shower, and private, landscaped courtyard. Stylishly furnished - the living room sports a 52 inch t.v. + Amazon Fire Stick - the bedroom has a Tempurpedic king size mattress - the fully equipped kitchen has a residential size fridge and stove with seating for four. The private courtyard is located right off of the kitchen with a Weber charcoal grill and seating for four as well. Central heat and air, dishwasher, wifi, Keurig coffee maker, iron/ironing board and blow dryer. This apartment, as well as the courtyard, is private. You have your own gated entrance. It is not a shared space. We live on the property so if there is something you need, we can quickly respond and assist you. The home is in the historic, offbeat Marigny district, known for its bistros, bars, and music venues, adored by locals as well as vacationers. Walk to the French Quarter, Bywater, and Frenchman Street. Public transport and bike rental are close by. Located steps away from the St Claude bus line and a 8 minute walk to the St Claude streetcar line, both can take you to every part of the city. Walk or bike to Frenchman St and the French Quarter. DURING THIS DAYS WE ARE TAKING EXTRA CONTROL AND PRECAUTIONS ON THE CLEANING: WE USE SPECIAL PRODUCTS TO SANITIZER ALL THE AREAS OF THE VILLA. OUR STAFF USE GLOVES AND MASK ALL THE TIME. This peaceful home is part of Holistika, a yoga and wellness center. Minimalist decor with natural wood and cool stone accents add to the sense of calm. Doze in the garden hammock beneath twinkling fairy lights and float in the villa's private pool. Located in the new residential development called “Holistika" (wellness center and yoga center). Just side to the center of Tulum, in a unique park. This new neighborhood offers nature and wellness. The Villa is composed of three bedrooms, two of them have a king size bed with a full bathroom (one with bathtub) and the other has two queen beds with a shower room separated. We have a TV room with a sofa that can be used as a bed. Fully-equipped (TV, Wi-Fi, kitchen, oven, freezer, coffee machine, fans, air-conditioning in each room, washer/dryer) with a beautiful “palapa”, garden an a private swimming pool. The resort offers many holistic treatments and fun activities onsite. Restaurants, craft boutiques, and a bakery are within walking distance. Stunning local beaches, remarkable archeological sites, and downtown Tulum are a short drive or cycle away. It's really easy and safety to use transports in Tulum. Walking, biking, taxi service or car rental service. A new bicycle pathway allows you to bike to the beach easily!
