Homely and peaceful 17th century cottage in the heart of Burgh-by-Sands, on Hadrian's Wall Path. Carlisle - 5 miles. Comfortably sleeping four (plus infant), in two double bedrooms, one with ensuite cloakroom, the house has a kitchen/dining/living space, cosy living room and spacious garden, with very little light pollution, ideal for star gazing. Ample parking Perfect for exploring the wildlife of the Solway Coast, the City of Carlisle, Gretna and the Lake District.

Hovel House Shed

The Shed has been custom built, in the paddock, near my small barn conversion. It has a homely atmosphere, with vintage furnishings and up-cycled items. Where possible I’ve tried to be eco friendly. This is a quiet, tranquil place with beautiful views of the Scottish hills beyond the Solway Firth. It’s part of a small hamlet and my former family farm. Animals are often kept in the fields next to The Shed. You’ll experience stunning sunsets and starry skies.

Enjoy the sounds of nature when you stay in this unique place. The perfect base for walking or biking the area or visiting the local towns and amazing sights or to just stop and relax and refresh. This is a dog friendly accommodation however any other pet ie cat/donkey/giant python I'm afraid has to be left at home and I ask you keep dog on the leash when around the car park and walkways.

We are a stunningly renovated terraced cottage. The contemporary open plan living area with comfy sofas, wood burner, cosy bedroom with SIMBA mattress and contemporary en-suite bathroom. From the moment you step through the door your relaxing break will begin. In the garden there is also private Hot Tub underneath a secluded pergola and access to the River Esk is via the back garden.

Red Stables is the ideal location for a peaceful getaway for you and your partner. It was converted from old farm buildings into a lovely cottage that is comfortable, warm and cosy. There are wonderful views - including from the hot-tub! The cottage is ideal placed for visits to the Lake District, The Solway Coast, the historic city of Carlisle, the Scottish Border and Hadrian's Wall.
