A handwritten note by an 11 yr old celebrating a birthday this weekend was placed on a pillow for our arrrival. This young human was expressing concern about being to loud at the party and asking us to please tell them if the noise got out of hand. If that is not thoughtful hospitality Nothing Is! I have kept the note😄 Kinda sad our scholarly child is finished with this Masters at UNH. If we need to return to Dover, we'll be in touch Dinah. A shout out of thanks for the cutting board. The spot is a real gem. My family of four, including two children, thoroughly enjoyed our time canoeing, eating fireside and sitting in the woods with the birds and other wildlife. It has a remote and private feel, even while being relatively close to campus and the greater Seacoast. There are thoughtful touches in the home (stainless steel kettle, natural soaps, etc) and on a cool June evening the fire kept us toasty in the loft. Our time was more glamorous than camping. It was perfection and we are already planning our next trip!

Cate’s Barn was wonderfully unique. If you are seeking a quiet peaceful country place in an interesting space, but is within reach to town, this may be worth staying at. The apartment is set in an old converted barn and has all the modern conveniences set amongst antiques from various eras. Cate is genuinely welcoming and friendly and we felt at home from the moment we arrived till we waved her goodbye.

Linda’s house is beautiful, clean and peaceful in a lovely area of Seacoast NH very close to downtown Portsmouth, shopping, beaches, i95 but also very quiet and private. She was an amazing host, very helpful and responsive and the price is a great deal. We especially enjoyed grilling on the patio and seeing the deer and turkeys in the backyard. Thank you Linda!

This was such a perfect, cozy, safe, and adorable stay for a woman traveling alone. I had to be in the area not just for Mother’s Day, but also because a family member was nearby in a hospital stay. On top of that I needed my little dog to stay with me. Being able to go into this little cabin meets apartment in a beautiful historic corner of New England was just right. I hope to stay again someday. It’s off the beaten path (good for me) but I found it in the dark without any problem by following the clear instructions sent to me. Thank you!

We had a fantastic week-long stay at Heidi's home. She was an exemplary host from the beginning to the very end -- always responsive, flexible, and very helpful. She knew we were going to be arriving at nighttime, and that there would be construction going on nearby with exit closures. She took time to provide detailed instructions on how to get around those closures which alternated between two exists every night from 7pm-7am. This is their real home, so when you enter, you feel like you have entered your home away from home. Everything in the house is not just clean, but spotless. The beds were comfortable and the surroundings are just gorgeous -- especially the sunroom, which is like something out of a dream. We even saw some wild turkeys at a distance in the backyard! Of all the Airbnbs we have stayed at, this was by far the nicest and the most memorable. Thanks so much, Heidi and Dennis.
