Our boat is on one side of the dock, and you’re welcome to use the other side for yours. There is a public boat ramp less than a mile away. Ellen and Andy exemplify what it means to be welcoming hosts. The home was very spacious, perfect for a couples getaway - tucked away in a small inlet with a view of the lake from both the living room and the deck. Full sized kitchen is stocked with any utensils you need. The comfortable couches & the large, curved tv was perfect for unwinding and throwing on a movie in the evening. This was the best place I’ve ever stayed at in my ten years of using Airbnbs.

Majestically Rustic Lake Murray Retreat |Sleeps 8

The reason to rent a house right on a lake is so that you can sit and look at the lake and maybe enjoy the amenities of the lake (swimming, boating, bird watching). That's what makes this house ideal - there are multiple areas to sit and look at the lake. You are tucked back a bit in a cove and the way the neighboring houses are positioned, you have plenty of privacy. We brought our boat and were able to launch it right on the property and tie it up at the dock. It was perfect! The house is roomy and clean, and the kitchen is stocked with most things that may be needed to cook (I brought a few specific items that rentals often don't have like a meat thermometer and a basting brush). There is a grill outside, but be aware that it is a charcoal grill and charcoal is not provided. Wendy is exceptionally responsive to questions and concerns. We discovered one of the boat cleats on the dock was broken, and she had someone there to fix it the next morning, on a holiday weekend. Awesome!
