Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Franklin County

Me and my two daughters went to this Airbnb and it was lovely. We enjoyed ourselves and wish we could’ve stayed there longer.

Jeff's place was perfect for what we came to Roanoke for; cycling. Mill mountain, Roanoke Greenway, and miles of road to ride. Everything is nearby, groceries, laundromat, city center is less than 10 minutes away. Safe and quiet neighborhood, the backyard is fenced up if your bring your dog along. Very good experience, i recommend Jeff's place. :)

My family gathered here with two dogs and there was plenty of space for all of us! Check-in was a breeze. The hosts communicated proactively and offered early check-in. The place was perfectly clean. We had 6 adults, a teen, a preteen, a toddler, and a walking infant so the doors at the top of both sets of inside stairs and the highchair were appreciated. My nephew loved the gameroom in the basement. We appreciated the Roku TVs. We had no issues with internet access during our stay. The paved walkway to the lake is steep so I recommend bringing down what you need so you don't have to make multiple trips. If you're in shape you'll be fine. We stayed in winter so we didn't spend much time by the water. We struggled with the thermostat. Despite simple instructions in the welcome guide it was not very responsive to our efforts to set it and adjusted itself. Would benefit from a more user/guest friendly model. Ample parking, quiet & nature. Great view. Overall we loved our stay, thank you!

Everything about this Airbnb was amazing! It was the perfect setting to celebrate several February birthdays - my cousin, MomMom, and sister- by simply relaxing in this cozy and peaceful house. With so many amenities, we grabbed groceries and spent the whole weekend enjoying the house and company. The hosts were incredibly accommodating, responsive, and friendly, with impeccable attention to all the small details which really make you feel at home.

Had a great time here…it’s one of the nicer ones I’ve been to…felt like we were in a post card picture it was so beautiful with the river running through. The host was great too. Would definitely recommend this place.

We cannot say enough positive about our stay at Jessica's home. This house felt like home and offered our family the perfect location in which to create lasting memories. Jessica was helpful, communicative, gracious, and just the perfect host. The home was spacious and offered so much area in which our grandchildren could play. It also provided the opportunity for us to actual host our Virginian grandchildren rather than just visit. Since leaving, they continue to ask to go back to the "farm." We hope to make this place our "home away from home." It was perfect! While a very rural location, it was convenient to Rocky Mount as well as a few closer convenient stores. Just loved it!

Sarah was an amazing host and her house is gorgeous! Right on the lake and even had toys for our 1 year old to play with. Can’t recommend staying here enough and we will be back!

Peaceful is the best way to describe this retreat. We had 3 generations of family along with our active dogs and everyone had a great New Year’s holiday. The home was well cared for and the setting was serene. Close enough to obtain all the necessary provisions but far enough away that for most of they stay everyone just hung out together. I would definitely recommend and hope to stay again.

Michelles cabin was great! Very quaint and cozy, perfect for my husband and I. There wasn’t any Wi-Fi/internet, but we were able to use our hotspots which was great for a rainy day. Would definitely stay again!

Perfect for dog lovers and lake lovers! I’ve rented various condos at Smith Mountain Lake and several different ones at Stripers Landing, but Shannon’s place is now my new favorite. With a great view, plenty of space and the option to bring the pup - it’s such a treat. Highly recommend.

The place was exactly as listed. Very clean! Michelle was easy to speak with and responded to text promptly. The only thing we would have changed is being able to stay longer.

We had a great stay at Keepin it Real! This condo has everything you could ever need and more. Hosts were very responsive from booking through stay. They definitely did a great job utilizing the small space-two people is the perfect number. Very comfortable and clean. The bed is huge and very comfortable. Dollar General is close, groceries about 10 minutes away. Very nice deck with nice furniture. There are quite a few steps down to the condo from the parking lot and down to the pool. Dogs have to be walked up near the parking lot in the grassy area. There is no lake access for swimming-just for boats.

We couldn't have picked a better place to spend our family vacation! This was our first time at Smith Mountain Lake, and it definitely won't be our last! Our 3 boys spent most of their time jumping off the dock, kayaking, fishing, or playing ping-pong. The dock was a little rickety and I was nervous about splinters, but we put some towels down and it was fine. We rented Wave Runners from the local marina (a short drive) and ended up heading back there one night to play miniature golf and play in the arcade. The view of the lake with the trees is just breathtaking! I loved the swing on the back deck when drinking my morning coffee or reading a book -- a peaceful way to start my morning. And to top it all off, there's a hot tub on the bottom deck! Plenty of space for the 5 of us (our boys are all 6'2"+) and our dog. I can't wait to go back! In fact, I'm already looking at future dates! Thank you!

Great location on the lake with a beautiful view. Had more than we could ask for in amenities! Definitely fell in love with the Hot tub.

My sister and neice and I stayed at Key To Stay's condo for 2 nights in February. I had previously stayed at that same condo in November. I originally gave this condo a great review, which is why we rented it again. This visit had a few maintenance issues, but they were eventually resolved and Key To Stay made sure to reach out to me personally to make sure we were satisfied. I do appreciate their commitment to making sure they improve the guest experience. I will definitely be staying here again after the wonderful customer service. The location is beautiful, the lake view can't be beat. The area has some great places to eat also.

The house fitted our family perfectly, including our dog. Spacious rooms, and a well appointed kitchen that had everything we needed to cook a Thanksgiving dinner. The jacuzzi was a hit as was the game room. Too cold for water sports but we enjoyed playing pickle ball and walking the dog around the neighborhood.

We enjoyed a wonderful long weekend stay at the cabin. The surroundings are beautiful and had we been in the area to enjoy ‘lake life’ this cabin would be a perfect fit. We were in the area to visit some museums in Roanoke and usually stay in hotels, but our dogs tend to bark and that bothers the other guests. As the cabin is dog friendly, we were able to crate them for a little while, while we enjoyed our day. Our host provided plenty of towels for our use, though we were surprised that there were no washcloths provided. When I mentioned this to our host, she said they’d take that recommendation for future guests. I’d also suggest that a box of tissues would be a nice addition (fortunately we had one in the car). But this is nitpicking, really. Bottom line - it’s a beautiful cabin and the surroundings are the same. Any lake loving boater would be right at home. And our host was friendly and communicative.

My family was comfortable, had fun stuff to do when we were there, and Cirlene was communicative and accommodating. Just such a great host! We’re so thankful how well this worked out and to know some new people in the new town we’ll be moving to!

Had a great stay at Justin’s place. The house has an amazing view of the countryside from the front windows and is only about 15ms to town. The dog had plenty of running room in the large, fenced yard. Strong wifi if you need to get in some work. Highly recommend.

Great place to be on the lake, with the windows open you can hear the water all night which war really relaxing. It's right on/above the water with a nice dock right on the water and deck a story above where you can see the sun setting in the distance and the lake view is awesome.

The four of us really enjoyed our stay at Carol’s beautiful home. Very comfortable, well stocked. Loved the cozy screened in porch, as well as the Adirondack chairs on deck and by the dock. Super responsive host - Carol gave helpful advice re restaurants and shops nearby. Highly recommend!

The property was amazing and peaceful. There was plenty of space for at least 8 people. The backyard was huge and fenced in, the dock and available watercrafts were great too! It was too cold to use the kayaks but my kids fished off the dock and had the best time. The view from the back patio, deck, and dock was beautiful. The neighborhood was extremely quiet. Bea was extremely communicative and even wished us a Happy New Year! I highly recommend this property and host!
