Holiday rentals with a patio in Forrest County

Two things stood out about this place. First, was the convenient location. Very close to USM, the zoo, and not far to downtown (Lucky Rabbit/pocket museum, etc). There is even a donut shop a short walk away. I liked that it wasn't in the busier strip mall area where many of the hotels are located. Even though it is just off a main street, it was quiet. The second thing, is the responsiveness of the host. I felt his sincere commitment to ensuring our comfort. For example, I had an issue with the coffeemaker and a new one was delivered promptly. Things that could be better - one of the bedrooms could use some curtains in addition to the blinds. It was a little bright for me at night. (Bring a sleep mask?) As someone else noted - there was a diffuser. I am also not a fan so I unplugged it. As the description says, it is an (updated) older home so this might not be to everyone's taste. Overall, it was a convenient and tranquil base for my visit and I was happy with our stay.

We had a wonderful weekend at this beautifully remodeled home. We relaxed on the front porch swing, enjoyed great conversation, and listened to the peaceful sound of the rain as a storm passed through. The neighborhood was quiet and serene — the perfect setting for a restful getaway. This location was perfectly situated near everything we wanted to do. We explored several downtown attractions and ran the Hattiesburg Half Marathon — all just minutes away. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the linens were lovely, and the décor struck a stylish balance between midcentury modern and contemporary charm. I especially loved the kitchen with its butcher block countertops — and the thoughtful touches like snacks, coffee, and an espresso maker made it even better. We even met the neighbor, who was super friendly and welcoming. Our host was just as hospitable and kind — he saw us enjoying the porch swing and stopped by with fresh eggs from his chickens! I would absolutely stay here again.

We stayed here on a cycling trip to ride the Longleaf Trace. Very comfortable property in safe area. Safe and short bike ride to eastern trailhead. Gavin is an excellent host for a wonderful property.

Great location, convenient to restaurants and bars. Easy to get to the university. Loved the apartment, it was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was big! Loved the feel of an older building renovated to a living space. Amazingly comfortable mattress. I actually just bought the same one! The neighborhood was very quiet and we ever heard our neighbors.

We had a lovely stay here. The house was charming and spacious. We like to cook meals and the kitchen was spacious with everything we needed. The location was great and the neighborhood quiet. Gilbert's instructions were clear and detailed; it was easy to get in and out of the house. And there was virtually nothing he asked us to do at the end of our stay; at some AirBnb's it's like they give you a honey-do list.

We came in town for a wedding and loved the location of the house. Close to Hardy St. so we felt like it was convenient to get anywhere from the house. Kids loved the checkers.

Stayed in Gillian's home while our home was getting repairs completed, place was perfect for what we needed it for. Would stay again if ever needing a place to stay or having family in town

Very nice place that was conveniently located in the USM area of Hattiesburg. Dakota was a very good host and would recommend others to stay at this location, should they need an extended stay, especially.

Great place to stay always feel at home

Great location near Hattiesburg and next to the highway. Very easy to find and check in. Clean and beautiful surroundings and comfortable/private cabin. The cleaning fee is a bit steep ($75) especially if looking to stay for a single night, but otherwise the property was great and I would highly recommend.

Erin’s place was absolutely PERFECT for me, my bridesmaids, and groom. I let Erin know I was going to be getting married and that myself and the bridesmaids would be staying the night before the wedding and then myself and hubby would be staying the night of our wedding since we wouldn’t be going honeymooning immediately. Erin made sure she made it extra special for the two of us and laid out roses in the shape of a heart on our bed, had us extra roses in a vase, a bottle of champagne with a bag of cookies and a sweet card filled with best wishes! The house was just perfect! Bridesmaids spent most of the evening on the back porch catching up and getting to know one another and making unforgettable memories. Thank you Erin for everything!! Hope to be back at the Blueburg soon!

Terrific house, ideal size, appealing neighborhood, located roughly one mile from both USM and Forest General/Hattiesburg Clinic. Great layout, beautiful kitchen and bathrooms, attractively furnished, all new appliances and TV, large fenced backyard, comfortable bed and furniture, interestingly out of the ordinary literature throughout the house. Kimmie ok'ed our arrival an hour early, and at the same time validated our choice of lunch restaurant. Easy communication, consistently prompt responses. Marketed as "The Nest", this is one very sweet soft landing space.
