The Cottage is completely off grid, with fresh water coming off the mountain and energy from the sun. The cottage is built from local materials - stone walls, reed ceilings, blue gum supports. There are glass doors and windows throughout the cottage. The cottage has a beautiful open-plan bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom includes a tub, a toilet and a basin.

It also has its own private courtyard with shutter doors that can be opened all the way to invite the outside in.

Hi, I’m Yvette I’ve been hosting guests at my villa since 2007. Ocean’s Echo is my home-away-from-home - a piece of paradise in Cape Town’s Southern Peninsula, that has views spanning the entire False Bay coastline, from Simon’s Town to Muizenberg. I’ve lived in Cape Town my entire life and am able to offer advice, give ideas for itineraries, and provide insider tips on restaurants and attractions in the Mother City. Windsor House, recently restored by Genevieve and Peter, on the first floor of the building, is an exquisite 19th century apartment situated in the absolute heart of Kalk Bay village, overlooking the lively and historic Kalk Bay Harbour. With grand views across the azure sea of False Bay to the magnificent Hottentots Holland mountain range, Windsor House is a treat. We have just added a strong inverter and batteries to the establishment. This provides power back up during load shedding.

Endless Views & Privacy

Our studio apartment opens up onto a 40sq meter balcony with a panoramic view of the Hout Bay Valley and the Helderberg mountains beyond. Large sliding doors disappear into the walls creating an unimpeded indoor/outdoor flow while the elevated position protects your privacy. The open plan bathroom faces onto an enclosed secret garden which includes a frame-less glass shower. The unit has a fully equipped kitchenette and is serviced daily except weekends and public holidays.

Whalehaven: Kalk Bay Apartment with Harbour Views

Kalk Bay is a small village clustered around a working harbour and close to 3 fabulous, white beaches and 3 world-class golf courses. It has narrow cobbled streets and small, independent shops selling clothing and homeware, coffee and ice cream. It's cheerful, colourful, and crammed with places to eat and drink really well, pretty inexpensively too. Walking paths take you up the mountain or to the tidal pools and beaches. Just Kalk Bay is a treat of a holiday!

Please note you need to go down (and back up) 90 stairs to the property.
