We had a fantastic stay at Þóra and Ivan's home! They were so friendly and helpful and we felt so welcomed and at home. We really couldn't fault our experience, it was the highlight of of stay in Iceland. It's really a beautiful place (about 10 minutes outside Akureyri) with fantastic views and we even saw the northern lights right over head on the second night! The house has been thoughtfully designed by the hosts, it is warm, cozy and stylish. Breakfast was great with home made bread and waffles and a great selection of tea. Beds were really comfy :) Stay here if you can, what Þóra and Ivan offer is the pinnacle of Air B&B experiences!

I really enjoyed my stay at Swany’s. I arrived very late and she greeted me in person. Swany was welcoming, friendly, social, and she invited me to join her and her friends in her natural spring hot tub for midnight sun! It was beautiful and nice to talk with other travelers. My Airbnb room was cute, clean, and comfortable. The shared bathroom and kitchen were clean and had everything I needed. I enjoyed the meditation loft too. This is somewhat like a hostel with numerous individual bedrooms and two shared kitchens and two shared bathrooms. There is plenty of space which is beautifully decorated, and every room has a spectacular view of the lake. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Swany!

We loved our stay at Sela! Swany is so lovely and has put so much beautiful energy and care into her home. So grateful for our stay here- despite the weather not being in our favour!

Truly a home away from home! Swany is a great host, additionally one can enjoy breathtaking views from the hot tub! We enjoyed our stay at Sela Retreat and can definitely recommend it.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sela. Swany welcomed us to her cozy place and we immediately cancelled our restaurant reservation so we could use the beautiful place to cook and enjoy the coziness of it. Thank you Swany for that wonderful place!

Luka was a great host! Incredibly helpful when my friend and I had trouble with the timing of our arrival and spotty cell service to communicate . Luka also helped us to arrange a horse riding tour which has become one of my top experiences here - breathtaking views, a wonderful guide (Vanessa), and amazing riding experience!

I had such a lovely time staying here, I just wish I had booked longer! very peaceful and Swany has created a great space for visitors. I hope to return someday.

Beautiful clean place in an idyllic setting. Linens are crisp and white and the bed is comfortable. The view is absolutely stunning. The host is super helpful and even arranged so we could get our laundry done even though we arrived late in the evening.

Very cozy, beautifully furnished accommodation. Due to an announced snowstorm and blocked roads, we booked a second night at short notice. Because the weather did not allow any activities, we had to spend a day completely in the accommodation. Since the room is very spacious and equipped with a small kitchen, TV and private bathroom, it was very comfortable. The kitchen could have been cleaned a little more thoroughly (crumbs in the fridge and cutlery drawer, the guests before us did not wash the spatula properly and left food leftovers in the sink strainer), apart from that everything was very clean. The surroundings are wonderful and in good weather you have a great view from the balcony. In addition, Stefán is a very likeable, friendly host and welcomed us warmly. We will be happy to come back :)

Very intimate place on a fabulous farm. Horses in pastures very close to the accommodation. Located 30 minutes from Myvatn and the detour is well worth it. Very well equipped and very friendly hosts. Sunset and beautiful view. Unforgettable stay for the place as well as for the horses. Lots of things to visit 30-40 minutes away. I highly recommend it.

It would be an understatement to say that our time at Swany's Airbnb as pure magical. There is no doubt I'd book there again when I revisit Iceland again. Everything during our stay there was just wonderful. From the magical uniqueness of the place, to the picturesque skies, to the peaceful neighborhood, to Swany's hospitality, i feel so lucky to have found this place.

Akureyri Backpackers is right in the heart of the town. Almost everything is within a walkable distance.

On our road trip through Iceland, we stayed in many different accommodations. This sweet, clean and well-located guest house was by far our favorite. We were glad we stayed two nights. The view from the terrace is a dream. The apartment was clean and well appointed. The hot tub could also be used on request. Communication went smoothly. Messages were answered quickly. We felt completely comfortable. Recommendation!

Very nice place to stay and comfortable. Our only complaint was that the blinds and curtains still let in a lot of light during the midnight sun which made it difficult to sleep for those of us not used to the midnight sun. Other than that, it was fantastic!

The guesthouse is so lovely! Everything is really thoughtfully designed for travelers with a hotel-quality room and fully stocked, large, communal kitchen. I was so grateful to do a load of laundry on our travels and meet the 3 adorable bunny rabbits on the property.

I love this apartment! There is a communal kitchen and dining room area and bathroom for every apartment.
