This is one of Cape Town's environmental and historic treasures. It is a candle-lit hideaway with stunning views of mountain and sea. The Cottage is completely off grid, with fresh water coming off the mountain and energy from the sun. The cottage is built from local materials - stone walls, reed ceilings, blue gum supports. There are glass doors and windows throughout the cottage. The cottage has a beautiful open-plan bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom includes a tub, a toilet and a basin.

Vredenhof is close to the N2 highway, in the heart of the Elgin Valley, known for apple-growing, and exceptional wines. You’ll love the comfort and charm of this place. Ideal for couples, looking to escape the city, and relax in quiet, "country" surroundings. Not ideal for children. You could stroll through the orchards, canoe on the dam, enjoy the summer sun in your own pretty, private garden, or curl up, under eiderdowns in front of a crackling fire, in winter. Avocado cottage is one of three cabins on the edge of a lake in the heart of the picturesque Banhoek conservancy. It is a light, modern cabin with a private, wood fired hot tub, access to endless hiking and the finest mountain biking trails in the Western Cape. Although it is styled as a two person cabin, there is an open queen sized pod attached to the living room which can sleep 2 children or an extra guest for an extra fee. The deck of this cottage reaches out over the lake.
